Back from the dead. Sort of.

From the dead? Maybe just dead tired. That always happens after a good workout. Nudge nudge, wink wink.
This reminded me of yet another night at Jazz Showcase, temporarily located in the Blackstone Hotel. Joe had some unknown cats that appeared to be just putting down a mellow groove. Everyone was just chilling and suddenly a sax player walked on and started doing this insane unison riff with the piano player. No doubt they had it all worked out in advance, but it was very cool and unexpected. Funny that I remember that, but I can’t tell you what I had for lunch yesterday.
Good stuff! It’s been a while since you got back to this kind of thing.
A welcome sound!
Good to have you back !
I must be getting old. I am actually starting to enjoy jazz! Or maybe it's just your music? That sounded great. Welcome back!
Welcome back - I feel like watching Johnny Staccato.
@Paulieworld. Damn straight. TBH, at 75 I need a little help for the long haul. Fortunately, medical science has worked another modern miracle. I’m good with that.
Thx @michael_m @Stochastically @JanKun.
@AlterEgo_UK hmmm. My sound is not a traditional jazz sound (I think). Maybe that’s it.
@pbelgium, here you go…
I prefer Johnny Stecchino, however…
As always, your music touches something in me. I’d say it would be great to bottle its essence . But I think the appeal is that it can’t be bottled.
Lol, @boomer, I can’t catch it myself.
Not my usual cup of tea, but I enjoyed this greatly.
Like in some lost Bogart movie, waiting for the resolution of the very complicated crime story. When you pretend to be listening to someone but are actually focused on music, barely breathing because of thick smoke and spilled booze odor.
Listened to it on JBL Flip6 (crappy BT speakers) but sounded magnificent, got an extra moody atmosphere. 😎
This sounds fantastic Mike! Really fantastic.
Are any of those horn sounds played by the Seaboard? Have you taken to it? Whatever method you’ve used to play those, it sounds great, as does everything about this piece. One of my faves of yours so far.
Thx @bygjohn @Luxthor
@Gavinski. SWAM horns were used. The Seaboard awaits. I played it once to make sure I could get it to work. I have begun to play the Novus, however, and love the real piano action. I’m glad you liked the track, bro. Keep on keeping on!
As cool as a cool thing daddy-o 🥶
Thanks @GeoTony stay as hip as you are. (“Hip”, btw, comes from opium smokers smoking on their side or hip)
So cool and yours. Had a great listening! Hope all is good.
Wow i Really love this. I found it because I have noticed your absence. I’m really getting Monk vibes from this. And on this little BT speakers I have, this sounds l like real instruments to me.
