Thanks. This is called "good support". And the manual is very well done.

  • I kinda wish every developer was like you (and well a handful of others).

  • Just wish I could get the update out to you all, but Apple is being picky this time.
    It's still waiting for review....

  • Tony,

I just wanted to thank you for taking the time to write such a comprehensive user manual. I've just had a skim through it and it was incredibly helpful. MidiSequencer seems simple, but it's really quite deep!

In any case, I wanted to echo @audiblevideo 's comment regarding you being a model developer. I can't wait to see what you come up with next!

    M

  • Seriously, what they said. Particularly with an app as deep as mS, your time and care on the manual is really appreciated. Good luck with it!

    @midiSequencer -

Tony, thanks for the outstanding support. I haven't had the opportunity to use the app as much as I would like to, but have zero regret putting money towards developers who care about their product and the buyers who use them!

Any word on the progress of the other MIDI piano roll project? Still a few weeks/months out?

  • +1 on the manual.

  • Tony, you are the hardest working dev i have ever seen. And it shows in your apps, so you are obviously smart to.

I hope to jam with you some day!

Thanks for all your kind comments. Indie developers may not have the big financies & people to work on the latest gadget type app, but we do care about the spit & polish we apply to our apps!

And as this is an AB forum, I'm glad to say I've coded midiSequencer to use the latest AB 2.1.3 sdk - which means IOS8 & state saving.
For state saving (presets really) I'm storing the bank name & snapshot slot (1..40) in the preset so it will auto-load when you select the Preset in the AB main screen.
Seems to work well at the moment, it will discard any changes if you have a bank in MS in progress, but Presets don't have a dialog to say 'app X is open - do you want to save your changes'.

I am now moving onto midi learn - I like Sunrizer so expect coloured labelled boxes! It's been late comming - after all midiSequencer was designed to send more than receive!

@stormjh1 - getting back to iMidi on monday - this update to midiSequencer (NRPN, Sysex etc) will all go in the editor. The audiobus changes too were needed, so in some ways I'm working on both.
I have iMidi playing midi files in the new front screen now (abit like audioshare). I can scrub the play position too. Will focus on recording midi into tracks next, then abit of graphic update and it can be released (so hopefully a couple of weeks).
The 2nd part will be the embedded editor - which is mostly done - I have had it playing back & recording notes. I've also mostly completed the controller channel (which you can drag to resize). I was about to move onto editing controllers when I realised I need full editing capabilities on a midi file (hence the NRPN, RPN, Prog change, Aftertouch and Sysex editor that is now in midiSequencer).

  • Hurry up already, Apple...

  • Very, very cool Tony. Looking forward to it.

Just out of curiosity, wasn't one of the touted benefits of Audiobus state saving that we were supposed to be able to share them? i.e. that they should include the data necessary to replicate on another device?

  • Yes....although it doesn't seem that many are taking advantage of that very much.

  • Update is live in NA - yahoo!
