Cosmach 2023 - another 90 minute online live set by QRM
The three of us had great fun playing another online live set as part of Cosmach 2023 - our series of live performances - yesterday. For those who don’t know: Each of us plays in his home studio - all linked via Zoom, and Mick, our producer put’s things into the YT live feed (thanks to OBS studio).
Because of the online linkup it’s difficult to play rhythmic pieces together. So we are mostly more on the drone, ambient and experimental side.
Our format is that each player plays 15min. solo, then joined by the other two for another 15 min. and then the next and so on. The playing order at each event is different. This time it was my turn to do the final 30 min.
This time my app appreciation goes to SQSL Latch that was great to use both as a kind of isomorphic keyboard and MIDI looper. Big thanks to the dev for listening to my feature request and implementing the “disable latching” feature in the last update.

Just dipped in and out and I was surprised how rhythmic (and melodic) a lot of it was.
You should publicise when your going to do your live streams to get a few more viewers, I’d certainly watch 👀
My two trips to Scotland this year are the Borders (just come back) and Isle of Mull in September so don’t think I’m close enough to pop in for a cup of tea 🫖
Thanks for your kind words @GeoTony , we are indeed planning to publicise our live events in the future. It would be great to have an events calendar for people’s live music events in this forum. But the moderators have probably already enough to do. Apart from several Facebook Groups, I am still on the lookout for the best place to reach as many people with an interest in electronic music as possible.
Enjoy Scotland and don’t get eaten by the midges on Mull.
