I see no use in such certificates.
They do no not increase security for personal use at all, to the contrary.

A self-signed certificate is perfectly fine and also the most secure option for a personal mail- or webserver.

Just check, import and trust the certificate before the first connection and you have zero probability of a man-in-the-middle attempt!

Getting and using official certificates starts to be useful when you have a community of people using such a server, as importing certificates is not everyones cup of tee 😅🤗

Ah huh, I thought your main concern was just the inconvenience of having to deal with manually trusting certificates, etc... if it's about security, well... are "official" certificates like those from Certbot really less secure than self-signed ones?
