Drambo: My Button Module — only the first press gets recorded.
Here is a video to supplement my explanation:
Note that when not in recording mode, the button triggers a loop every time I press it, as expected. But when I start recording, only the first press gets recorded, as the following presses won’t record in the same take. Toggling record on and off is currently the only way to record each additional button press. This is a bug I assume? Or something to do with my configuration? I never had this problem before recording knob automation.
For those who’ve already seen this on Beepstreet forum, apologies, but it seems there isn’t much traffic there. In the past I’ve started another thread about a bug and received no response, and I had waited one week before I had reposted here, where I received a response almost immediately.
Thank you 🙂

@Blipsford_Baubie : Are you talking about an issue triggering Loopy? if so, put a midi monitor between loopy and the midi stream to see what midi loopy is seeing.
No troubles triggering Loopy at all, @espiegel123 👍
The button presses themselves don’t get recorded into Drambo’s modulation lane. It does, but only the first press (set to switch, not momentary) You can see for yourself in the video, I promise it’s a short one.
I just created a new project and added nothing other than a button module with only one button.
I still get the same behavior. I press play on the transport, press record, press the button repeatedly, but only the first button press gets recorded to the automation lane.
If I toggle recording off and then on again, it’ll record just one more press until I toggle record again, ect. This is all evident when looking at the automation lane too.
I have to conclude that this is a bug, otherwise all button presses would be recorded, or none at all.
Not sure if I’m experiencing exactly the same @Blipsford_Baubie but I’ve just had a situation where I’ve tried to p-lock two momentary button presses (triggering two snapshots in Audioscope) but after the first play through of the loop they are not successfully triggering.
Am I doing something wrong or is there a bug with the Buttons module in Drambo? @giku_beepstreet @rs2000?
https://forum.beepstreet.com/discussion/2401/button-p-locking-confusion
Brilliant, thanks @bleep. I did actually try adding extra p-locks to give the buttons an extra tap to turn them off again but that didn’t seem to work? I’ll try again, maybe I did something wrong?
Hmm, no @bleep, adding the extra p-locks to turn the buttons off again doesn’t work for me. I must still be missing something…?
While holding a step, did you really hit the button twice to actually disable it?
At least that's what works here with all button types: Toggle Button, Trigger Button, Buttons=>Switch and Buttons=>Toggle
This thread is super helpful thanks! I tried to use p-locked CCs to trigger Koala patterns, to bring Koala into Drambo’s song mode. I gave up because the behavior was unpredictable. This might fix it. 👍
Ah, yes, will check after writing this, but that sounds like what I’m missing, many thanks @rs2000. Will report back in a few minutes…
Yes, that’s it! Thank you so much @rs2000, your Drambo knowledge is invaluable on this forum, cheers.
