Cubasis or Gadget ...on sale

Need help folks...both Cubasis and Gadget are on sale, and both of them are highly appreciated to add in my iPad.
Honestly, I was saving some cash for Auria, but I have got a deal just yesterday when I got my Moog synth plus Steinberg audio interface...basically I have a Cubase 7 version for desktop....and magically Cubasis got my attention for a potential integration ipad - desktop.
What should I do...get Cubasis, and wait for next Gadget sale? Skip everything and get Auria as planed?

    Buy all of them :)

Seriously it totally depends on what you want and what kind of workflow you have and what kind of music you make. I prefer Cubasis and Auria... But Just cause that suits my style :)

Watch videos and choose which suits you..

  • What do you want to do? Is midi a requirement? Given that you mention an audio interface, I assume that laying down audio tracks is a part of what you want to do, which would rule out Gadget. Cubasis will support that, however there is more flexibility (and a higher cost) with Auria and its plug-ins. Most people, myself included, aren't as impressed with the effects within Cubasis. Out of the box, I feel that Auria's are better, and even more so when you add plug-ins. Of course, Auria doesn't support midi tracks...yet.

Although Gadget doesn't support recording audio tracks, beyond samples, it is a lot of fun, very comprehensive, and a wonderful workflow.

All that probably doesn't help much, but I would say the biggest question is what you plan on using any of them for, and then narrow it down from there.

  • It really depends on what you need. If you want a direct and simple way to make tunes and you are writing or producing electronic music, then Gadget will get you results quickly. If you want to do multi track recording/sequencing of multiple apps, need something to record external sources or want to transfer audio tracks from your main DAW and work on them away from the studio, then it's Cubasis.

  • Thanks! Actually no Midi is required....I usually record audio tracks, even from the synth to the DAW.

  • Do you have children?

  • I got both

  • If you're only recording audio tracks, get auria. You'll wind up there anyway so if not sequencing, it does what you want. I don't rely heavily on midi either but I mix all the time in auria. When it gets midi I'll get it just to have it, but it will play a minimal role.

Cubasis does look cool though, and if your goal is to make tracks on the go then mix on cubase, it makes the most sense. Although you can export stems from auria.

Yes! Which means extremely limited time, no time to play with midi, so Auria for iPad .... Keeping Cubase on the desktop.....and Gadget for 10 min enjoy on-the-go . Hmmmm :)

  • Just a reminder that the Cubasis sale ends today.
