It's something, alright. A beginning. What's needed is for Apple to fold into Logic Pro "A.I. musicians on demand" so any parts you need in your current project you can just call up the virtual instrumentalist you want to fill in the part. THAT will be a massive power shift in the music production business.

I see this mostly in a positive way. Many of today's producers don't necessarily have the playing skills to come up with complex chords progressions/voicings. This is why there are so many MIDI chord progression packages available in the market.
So if a producer can interact with an AI and get the thing he/she wants served on a plate based on a prompt, instead of "painstakingly" browsing folders of chord progressions, why not... a reward for our laziness which is basically what machines were made for.

I am a bit sad about the idea to rely on an AI to create a melody though... Melodies are what makes music creation so fun, interesting and personal. Even kids can come up with a melody if you ask them to sing along a chord progression. So I truly wish the melody could stay in the human realm. If a producer doesn't have the skill to transcribe his melodic ideas into his DAW, there is still the solution to sing it and have an audio to midi conversion tool doing the job for you and then a bit of tweaking. Not saying having an AI generating melodies is a bad thing per se. It can also bring new ideas and great for generative music. But I personally wish melody (as singing melody or riff) stayed as much as possible a human thing.

We already have amazing tools at our disposal to create chord progressions with rich harmonic content and voicings. I am especially thinking of Scaler 2 and Chord jam. If you start from a given chord, both of these apps can suggest vast amount of really interesting chords for the next one. Ok, it is not served on a plate but digging a bit can lead to great things and stimulates imagination. For exemple, I created the chord progression of this track with chord jam, not jazz, but the chords contain jazzy upper extensions
