springVerb by OSC Audio (Released)

https://apps.apple.com/us/app/springverb/id6450971173

springVerb is a macOS, Windows, and soon to be iOS compatible stereo multi-mode spring reverb. Designed for VST3, AU, AUv3, and stand-alone use.

Spring reverb has a long history, making debut on organ sounds and really getting noticed when being built into some of the most famous guitar amps known to man. In today's musical world, spring reverb is now pretty much used on anything that could use just a touch of ambience.

springVerb is packed with 3 spring modes to give you a wide range of sounds to bring to your mix. The included Highpass Filter, Lowpass Filter, and controllable Decay*, help springVerb use on any source.

•RedSprings
A full body big spring sound. Turn down the decay for a classic touch of spring, or crank it to 10 and let the spring go wild for massive ambience.

•DigiSprings
A slightly smaller spring compared to RedSpring, with a less intrusive sound great for adding subtle touches of space to your source.

•CaliSprings
Traditional guitar-amp based spring reverb with twang you'd expect. This sound includes a guitar cabinet which can add an interesting flavor to your sounds. This one is particularly designed with guitar players in mind. *Decay does not affect this mode.

All settings can be saved and loaded in your sessions as well as crossplatform presets. All parameters offer automation control to get the most expressive sound.

iOS Coming Soon.

  • I have way to many reverbs, but 0 good spring reverb. I will probably buy it.

Hope it's more convincing than the Eventide.

  • Audiothing Springs = fantastic with lots of drip.

Eventide app was indeed a disappointment, but have you tried Audiothing Springs ? For now, it is by far the best option on iOS for Spring reverb lovers. So many tweak options and so many models included. Any new spring contender would have to sound incredibly good to get me buy it

Nothing beats Springs, that's for sure

Have you tried some other spring reverbs outside of that? Springs is great as well as the Timeverb. There’s a handful of great spring reverbs on iOS actually.

Yeah, that Eventide spring is nothing like a spring reverb. Audiothing Springs is where it’s at. It sounds amazing.

Yep. It's my go-to spring reverb for iPadOS and desktop.

Totally agree. Eventide's spring reverb is terrible in comparison.

    No, but I will. Thanks.

The best iOS spring reverb that I know is THR but a simple light Auv3 would be perfect. I will compare it to Audiothing

As others have mentioned Springs is amazing and basically untouchable on iOS for spring reverbs but this new app and Devil Spring are both pretty good. Also you can use iVCS3 as an effect for its spring reverb which is very decent as well.

Not sure what THR is. Or maybe I’m missing what the abbreviation is.

Ah okay. I thought I was missing out on some new app I needed to get 🤣

Haven’t used THU so I can’t compare but I’ve heard good things.

OK… I give up. I added Springs to my collection. There are so many hardware captures of classic reverbs. I love the long tunnel with 6 springs in a stereo output. I put he output into my favorite space reverb “EOS 2” and I get these lovely metallic colors that no other reverb seems to offer.

I’ll probably get the OSC product too just to see what colors are provided.

    I second that!
    It is really good.

See the springs... be the springs.

I’d you haven’t yet, try TimeVerb from GSI. It’s up there with Springs for me. And you can run it in series or parallel with the other included reverb and it sounds really nice.

  • Best to try first spring or plate?

I would say it depends on your taste. Spring reverb is use in guitar amp. Not exclusively of course. It is the surf guitar sound.

It isn’t a question of best. I’d suggest listening to examples of spring reverbs and plates and hearing what would be most useful to you.

  • It also depends what you already have. Remember these are budget apps with a budget level of control. If you have an extensive collection of plate / spring reverbs, you may not need these. If you don't and are on a budget, they might be worth a punt.

I like the lack of controls. Some of those reverb are way to complicated for me.

Yeah there’s definitely something to be said about having a simplistic app that you can just load up and get to work with immediately. Sometimes that’s what I need because I don’t always feel like diving deep into an app and crafting the perfect patch.

My most used reverb is the Audiokit Reverb. 3 knobs and sounds great.

Not unfortunately but it will fall off the table.

Definitely an overlooked gem! I use it quite a bit myself. To be so simple, it sounds so good!
