Objects In The Mirror (Cubasis 3 upgrade issues)

I have been using Cubasis 2 for a long time. It has been solid, stable, and predictable. I upgraded to version 3.5.1 based on it’s ability to run Scaler 2 easily. This is my first attempt, so I wanted to push it a bit. It fought me every inch of the way. I read that it was a completely new version written from the ground up. What could possibly go wrong? Apparently, quite a bit. Amongst other issues, I found that the locators were particularly finicky. Also, it seemed to choke on multiple audio tracks with effects. On the positive side, the mixdown rendering was pretty fast. Everything seemed to be in the right place, so I’m satisfied, overall. I would love to hear comments on your experience.

This track uses every trick in the book. It’s very busy! Almost annoyingly so. Sorry. It’s almost a metal song, but it uses a lot of happy major chords. The graphic is a bit misleading. It’s actually Santa Claus bringing you a nice new axe to chop wood for your Christmas fireplace.

  • I’m not annoyed 😊
Also I can’t offer any advice on Cubasis 😢
What I do know it that this is another stonking good track 👍
It’s interesting how the SoundCloud listens to Forum views and comments ratios are shifting at the moment 🤨

Hi Tony! I think you are the only one listening. Thanks.

  • This is a great track. Very much my style. 😎👍

Have you tried playing with the Multi core processing and latency in the settings? Some models of iPad do worst with the multi core processing enabled others benefit greatly.

I’m glad you enjoyed it! I have played in many bands, but never one in this style. Since I discovered the iPad, I can do anything I like, now. It’s not the same, but it’s almost as good. I will look into the settings as you suggested. I think it’s like anything worthwhile. It just takes time. Trial and error. Thanks for listening!

  • This is a bloody great track! Don’t know if you like Dream Theater but this reminds me of them - prog metal at its best! And all done on an iPad?! That’s crazy…I hear you about Cubasis 3 - it’s OK but heartily recommend trying Logic. Anyway this track is right up my alley, great listen!

Yes, I really like Dream Theater a lot. I will take that as a high compliment. I liked your track Manning The Grill. Before our new condo association outlawed them I did that every summer weekend. I’ll check out more tracks when I can. Have a great day, bro!
