  • Whouhou ! Was waiting for that to upgrade from Stage to Standard.
    Thanks.

  • Just a reminder for anyone still on the fence

  • It's double-t's in the name, not double-r's.

  • 20% thats like removing the premium we pay here in Canada

The sale is still going at JRRShop by the way (and you can get an additional discount using the code "group"):
    https://www.jrrshop.com/pianoteq?dir=asc&limit=50&mode=list&order=price

Edit: The sale has ended now

I’m iOS only so I’m not sure how that will translate. I know the unlock is universal but does anyone know if have to buy on iOS if you’re iOS only? Do they give you a code to unlock on iPad if you buy the desktop one?

You can buy the desktop version, then register etc on their website. Then you just need to press restore purchases or whatever inside the iOS app.

So yeah, doesn't matter where you buy it. I think it works the other way too - buy on iOS and you can use on desktop, but I'm not sure offhand. Anyone know?

Also, one weird thing to remember is that the free instruments you get when you get stage or a higher tier, are not directly download able within the app. You need to log in to your account on modartt website and dl from there. Those free instruments are also not available to try in the free version. I find this a slightly weird setup, but that's how it is.

I used the GROUP coupon code at the JRR shop yesterday, and got an additional 20% off. I paid $180 total for the Standard initial purchase.

They now show a message "Coupon codes are not available for this manufacturer (Pianoteq)", and trying to use it doesn't have any effect, while it does if you have other manufacturer products in the cart.

  • I spent the whole of the sale trying to convince myself I don’t need pianoteq but caved miserably last night. Luckily snagged a copy of standard and an extra instrument with the extra discount on JRR before they pulled it.

One thing I’ve noticed that is missing from the iOS version is the sidechain input and multi out. Anyone know if this a known limitation of the iOS version?

  • Hmmm - I don’t see any discounts if I look into Pianoteq on my iPad?

Instruments original price, 599SEK (Sweden), but it still 599SEK, no 20% discount…

Anyone in Sweden that could check this in Pianoteq on iOS?

I'm not sure if the sale was available on the iOS IAPs, but it has ended on the website so I wouldn't expect it to be available now anyway

Thanks Gav, good to know. Imo the free instruments is a great selling point and really makes the $130 for the initial price feel like a steal for what you get. Can’t afford it right now but in the next week or 2 I may go ahead and get the Standard license. Pianoteq is genuinely a top 5-10 app ever for me now and I’m sure that will just push it closer to the top.

You have the Pro/Studio version right? How are you liking it? I’m not sure I’ll ever need it but I was thinking, if I buy more then 3-4 standalone packs after also buying Standard, I may be better off saving for a couple more months and going for the whole shebang at that price.

Yes I have Pro studio. I love it. I couldn't have afforded it at full price but was able to wangle a decent discount from modartt. For me one of the main things was that this would give me a lot more possibilities in terms of quickly creating morphed instruments. I also just didn't want to keep thinking about which ones I would buy, as most of them were very appealing to me. I have even used some of the pro features of tweaking parameters per note. You can come up with some weird experimental frankenstein instruments that way - I've only scratched the surface tbh there.

As I mentioned elsewhere in the thead, I read on the forum that it at least used to be possible to ask modartt directly if they could give you a deal on buying a 'standard studio' license (this is not listed on their website). This could potentially work out cheaper than the Pro Studio. That is a lot of money, and I definitely wouldn't have been in a position to buy it if it wasn't for my YouTubing helping me get a good price. Even then, I still forked out a lot of money, but no regrets!

What’s the standard studio? Like the studio features but without all the instruments included? That could be interesting.

Most likely I’ll just get standard and then upgrade to studio eventually. I don’t need all the pianos. In fact I intend to still mostly use Just Piano for that (it really is amazing for the price). I want it for the morphing of all instruments and the amount of tweaking that can be done. Sampling and mangling found sounds and acoustic instruments is one of my main styles of music making so that would be huge for me. One day haha. Hopefully before summers over. 🤞

The sale is still going at JRRShop by the way (and you can get an additional discount using the code "group"):

That would be standard version with all the instruments. It's not an official option, I just remember reading on the forums that some people had emailed modartt directly about it and agreed a deal that would be cheaper than buying Pro Studio.

Hmmm so you just like the per note adjustments and few other Pro features then? I may actually look into (politely) asking them about that in the coming weeks. That actually sounds like the ideal middle ground for me. Thanks for the tip! Doesn’t hurt to try 🤷🏻‍♂️

You wrote 'like' but I think was maybe a typo for 'lack'? Yeah, worth a try! Not sure tbh why they don't officially offer this. Let us know if they let you go for this!

I’ll definitely report back. I won’t have the money for a purchase that big for a few more weeks yet, especially since I still need a new midi controller, but once I buy that, it’ll be next on the list.

It really should be an option, imo. Not everyone needs every individual pro feature but a lot of people could benefit from the individual instruments, morphing/layering, and detailed editing.
