AUM - Last state woe.

No not this one please! I know it was my own stupid fault but I never laid a finger on it - honest. Dust it for prints if you want. It’s not in a state at all - it’s just as I found it in as new condition. Take pity on me at least once or twice…. can’t you? 😥

  • I just realized for the first time there is a "FILES > Restore Previous State" feature on the hamburger icon in AUM. (So far I’ve only known about the "LAST STATE" feature.)
    I don't think the above info will help OP at all, but as for me, I thank OP for the new tip.

    On an unrelated note, I also recently noticed if there are multiple dots at the bottom of an iPad home screen or app folder, the user can tap and hold on them and move their finger to jump pages.

    You mean the ‘last opened’? I’ve never used that before. Not sure what it means vs last state.

  • @robosardine
    It seems to me the "LAST STATE" feature and the "Restore Previous State" feature(= autosaved file) refer to the same data. (Sorry if I'm wrong.)
    So I said the above my information about "Restore Previous State" would not be helpful to you.
    However, it does help me. Because I often load a synth app into AUM without thinking about it, and then suddenly I find myself wanting to continue with the last unsaved session. But from now on "Restore Previous State" feature will save me.
    I would not realize it unless I read this post of yours, and as a result I checked AUM Settings Menu and I found it. So I must thank you.

  • 👍 Don’t forget ‘import’ as well if you haven’t used it where you can import part or all of a previously saved session into your current one.

    @robosardine I still don't get your screenshot.
    It just looks like a normal AUM before any configuration.
    Am I supposed to see any problem or something else here?!? 😳

    No it’s just a little bit of fun. I’ve often lost my last state without opening any apps + just by opening an empty lane… by that time it’s too late….. that empty lane then becomes your last state. I should really always save when I’m leaving - but I have often thought ‘That was great - I’ll definitely remember to open the last state when I come back to this’ - saving me the bother of thinking up another ridiculous name to call it and type it in.

  • What we need is the ‘open the last useful state before I made the mistake of creating another state that wasn’t remotely useful’ option 😊
    On a more serious note perhaps an empty lane shouldn’t be considered for saving as a previous state ?
