Remember Playback State question

Hello,

I'm new to Loopy Pro and enjoy it very much :D

I set a button on my Boos FS-1-wl to control the Play/Stop All Clips function of Loopy Pro.

It seems that the clips I stop with my pedal will be the ones that will be played next
when I press again the button on my pedal.

One problem is that when clips are stopped I can't tell visually which one will be played.

Also what if I want to play or stop other clips than the ones I stopped with my pedal?

    One option might be to use mute/unmute rather than play/stop. The clips would then still show visually that they're the ones you want. You can set how to quantize the mute and unmute so that it doesn't happen immediately on the foot switch.

    Another is to use a particular color instead. Then you could just play/stop all clips belonging to that color. The advantage would be that you only have to remember the color and that you could add or remove clips from being affected by simply changing their color.

    Another is to make a play group and assign all clips to play together, then trigger that group or any one of the clips.

    There are other ways, but it's hard to recommend any approach without understanding more fully what you're trying to accomplish.

    Also what if I want to play or stop other clips than the ones I stopped with my pedal?

    I don't understand the question. With or without touching the screen? With other buttons or the same button? Individual clips or groups of them?

    how can I select them, so they will be played next time I will press my pedal again.

    There is something called "Selected Clip" which you can use to apply actions to a particular clip. There isn't anything that can directly select multiple clips like control-click would do on a computer. So, you can't easily use a foot switch to select a bunch of clips at random and then trigger an action on them.

    Normally what I would do is make play groups of clips, with the play group set to play all together. Then I would use one or two of my foot switches to navigate to a clip in the group and select it. Then another switch would take the action that would trigger that group.

    But what you're trying to do isn't very clear to me. You say "press my pedal," which makes me think you might be trying to use a single switch on your FS-1 to do all this? Or when you say "pedal" do you mean using multiple buttons on your pedal. There are lots of different ways to accomplish things in Loopy Pro, but without a clear understanding of what you're trying to do it's hard to make recommendations.

    I'll describe how I use my four switches. Maybe that'll help generate some ideas.

    Switch A: Selects next clip
    Switch B: Selects previous clip
    Switch C: Plays/Stops selected clip (records if empty)
    Switch D: Records/Stops recording selected clip (overdubs if already contains audio)

    There's a bit more to it than that, using long-presses and double taps, but those are the main functions. Note that everything acts on a single selected clip though. To act on multiple clips I leverage play groups and/or colors and pre-think what I want grouped together.

    Again though, what you're trying to do isn't very clear to me yet, so it's hard to give anything but general ideas.

    By the way, if you turn Wait For Playback on, you can tap on loops to play enable them and when the transport is started , they will play.

    You can also create buttons that turn on multiple clips at once.
