Sonic game - can you guess what this sound of summer is?
It will be in my upcoming August Patreon reward pack, can anyone guess the object that is sampled? This is just for fun, not a contest.
It's a thing that is used in summer (but not only). Here the sample has been transposed and stretched but no other processing has been applied.
The original unprocessed sample is also part of the pack.

The bell on the counter in a hotel? Slowed down but originally frantically hit by an impatient guest.
Hi tyslothrop1,
Good try, close but that’s not it. It’s an object that is normally used outdoors.
I should have mentioned this in the first post but the sample is 9 seconds long and it’s repeated 2 times in the video.
I thought the thread was about a sound from a Sonic The Hedgehog video game 😂
Reminds me of a school bell
Sorry to disappoint you! I didn't even think of that when I wrote it.
It does... but it isn't!
Here’s another clue:
This object is an accessory to a larger one, it’s attached to it.
Flag Pole?
Oooh, yes - sounds like this to me!
No but it’s a great guess. It does sound like the cord beating on the pole on a windy day.
A bicycle bell?
That’s correct, congratulations!
What made the sound more difficult to guess is that the pitch was lowered by 2 octaves but it was stretched by 800%. Normally the stretch ratio for 2 octaves is 400%.
And here’s a photo of the actual bell that is sampled
Thanks! First time I’ve ever won at something. Yaye!
I couldn’t have done it without the aid of Koala.
Cool, so you used Koala to speed up the sound?
