Yes, you can use the Apple USB-C 3.5mm dongle in a USB-hub that has a USB-C port...

That's the LinQ USB-C 'dongle' with iRig Mic HD, CME Xkey, and USB-C -> 3.5mm dongle with Sony MDR-7506's and power adaptor connected to the USB-C PD Port...

  • thanks Samu!
    that's so good to know

  • You can also use the Apple dongle into a USB A hub with an adapter:

I’ve tried enough usb c to mini jack dongles hooked up to a usb adaptor that connect to hubs. The apple dongle Richard shows has given me the best performance. It has the cleanest sound quality and highest volume output. Belkin dongles can suffer electrical sound interference.
As for hubs: very pleased with the UNI hub (check jakob haqs yt vid) has a detachable usb c cable. All hubs should have this to last longer imo.
