Synthesize massive kicks and thumping toms with the Triplex retro FM engine!

Triplex Kicker is a 3 operator FM synth specializing in kick and tom sounds. The sound can easily be manipulated with 6 simple controls and the unique integrated envelope generator shapes the sound in a way that makes it sound like a perfectly compressed kick. Use the filter to do DJ-style highpass filtering, the LFO for experimental shape shifting tom sounds and top it all off with a dash of soft clipping with the drive control.

Features:

  • 3 operator FM synth engine with up to 8 voices
  • Macro controls over pitch envelope amount, pitch envelope decay, DJ-style highpass filter, attack, tail and "body"
  • Sine wave LFO with shape control (sine, triangle, ramp up, ramp down, square, random) and user-definable destination
  • Drive control

KNOWN ISSUES:
As of right now the standalone app does not support incoming Midi. Please use TriplexKicker hosted as an AUv3 plugin.

Another kick synth! Could be cool, but Ruismaker FM is an euro more and thats a whole fm drummachine, how does it compare to this?

  • Snapper too. Two new apps.

  • I understand these are originally separate apps, but this is not very convenient imo. If you want to create a drum/rhythm track similar as you would with a drummachine you will need multiple instances of these apps, taking up slots, to get something going. It would be really interesting if these fm synths where somehow combined into one app and you would be able to use at least 5/6 sounds within this app.

  • Horses for courses : I like the fact they are separate apps because they fit perfectly that way with my workflow and I don’t waste resources having additional functionality that I don’t need on my kick channel, for example.

It helps me keep focused on the specific task in hand.

I also like tools that are very, very good at doing just one thing as opposed to being quite good at many things.

But I understand why others would prefer it the other way - there’s no right or wrong way, just your own way.

As a developer myself (not audio related) sometimes in making choices regarding our software we’re damned if we do and damned if we don’t.

    Good point.

  • I’ve been a big fan of all this Devs apps so far. The channel Strip has become my go-to for that and I’m loving the FM synth as well. Snapper is a little more up my alley since it’s the more unique of the 2, but I’ll probably grab both to support. And I’m a sucker for anything FM, Drum, or Sample related and this has 2 of the 3.

  • are there examples of the kick and the snapper versions?

  • I bought them both last night. Only had a little time time with them so far, but I’ll say I’m a fan. I prefer Snapper. It’s more versatile and usable for a wider range of sounds but for what it is (and the price) I think Kick is great too. Not sure it beats Thump One but I see them as 2 different beats anyway.

I haven’t seen any. If you’re interested I can try and record and upload a quick demo of each tonight.

  • Anyone know if they have plans to port their other apps to iOS? I know they have a ton of desktop apps.
