At The Piano / interviews with some great jazz pianists

I did an interview for AllAboutJazz last August. The interviewer, Jakob Baekgaard. To my astonishment he’s interviewed many famous players, including Harold Danko. He created this great anthology. He kindly included my interview, too.

  • Bumping just one time.

  • Oh, that sounds like some worthwhile reading.

Congrats on making the big time! It's been a jazz piano day for me. First, Keith Jarrett; now listening to this absolute jem (overlook the unfortunate thumbnail photo--it's a greeeaat track):

  • @Wrlds2ndBstGeoshredr Alice caught John’s spirituality. Nice to see it’s not western based.

  • Alice was a revelation the first time I heard her. She was way more than John’s widow.

Always been a fave this one, from the remarkable Ptah The El Daoud album,

There's that episode of Atlanta when Paper Boi is remembering his mom, and this is on the soundtrack! Props to Donald Glover or whoever it was that made that choice.
