Breathe again

Not super original or chaotic, but kind of chilled, and just grew, as it were, from playing with my Moog Sound Studio 3. Plus it’s my first piece using one of the MoogerFooger plugins (the phaser in this case). And DecadeBridge Cadence is in here, too, processing the outputs from the sub-oscillators from the Subharmonicon, with Seq1 modulating the filter. It comes in as an extra texture after a few minutes.

Subharmonicon through Velvet Machine
DFAM through Other Desert Cities
Cadence through MoogerFooger Phaser and Blackhole
Retro Piano through Rymdigare
Mother-32’s LFO modulating the SubH’s filter cutoff (otherwise silent)

Put together and recorded in AUM on my iPad.
Video created with VS and finished in LumaFusion on iPad.

  • This is wonderful. A first-rate union of sound and image.

Thank you! It’s really satisfying when things come together unexpectedly.

True in music. True in life. 🙂

  • Great job on the visuals and the sounds. As Leo would say “really nice”! ☺️

Thank you! I was just fiddling with stuff while I waited for a delivery when it gelled rather well.

  • Great work, audio and visuals… I prefer chilled to chaotic 😊

  • Very, very nice, visuals and sounds both! :) Definitely getting Enos’ Another Green World vibes from this… Like peering into a pond through the bottom of a glass jar.:)

It’s great when the ‘lead’ sound comes in at 4.20. As a fellow Sound Studio 3 user, I feel inspired by this to try the units live through fx in AUM; up til now I’ve only recorded the wavs dry and messed around with them subsequently, which is fine but obviously less flexible. So: were you running sequences on the Subharmonicon and the DFAM? Did you live play the melody?

  • @GeoTony Thanks! I move around between the two (chaotic/chilled) quite a lot. Though playing chaotic patches is really good fun - one slight tweak can make a huge change to what’s going on.

@Svetlovska Thank you, and I’m chuffed you’re going to try the SS3 through processing in AUM. Expands the possibilities hugely.

Yes, I’m running sequences on the SubH and DFAM, but they’re not synced (if my memory is working). And the DFAM sequence (the bass motif) is tuned by ear, so it may be a little off to anyone with perfect pitch. The lead (Retro Piano) is played live, in fact improvised, though I’d had a couple of run throughs so knew roughly where I was going with it.

The general watery theme has given me ideas. I’d say “stay tuned”, but that’ll probably jinx the whole thing 🤣
