"Setting Sun" - PM, Emvoice, Synth guitar :)
Hi
created this in logic pro on an Ipad 12.9, with vocals created in Emvoice on a PC in Cakewalk.I used the brilliant Piano motifs to create 3 sections, then added to with bass, drums and leads (does Piano motif output a list of chords it uses in a piece, loads of fun working the lead and accompanying structure) ?
Has verse, pre-chorus - and then s** it, couldn't be bothered with a vocal chorus so went into one of my favourite patches in Poison and did a guitar riff Pleased the way it came out
For the video I've also changed from Clipchamp (with just gets really really slow), to Davinci - just running on an old surface (also used for Cakewalk). Added some AI infinite (well, not that infinite) zooms and there we have it
hope you enjoy

I really like your stuff, not sure what it is about the music but there you go…
PM doesn’t publish the chords it’s using but you can always run it through one of the apps that detects chords to see what they are.
Nice ‘guitar’ work 😊
thank you, really appreciate the comments.
Any suggestion on apps for chord recognitions ? thanks
Hi @matdun25848834 , the ones I have (by chance as I didn’t get them specifically for this functionality) are Tonality and Scaler 2. Screenshot below of them in action. There are also apps that take a MIDI file (which Piano Motifs can generate) and shows it as chords or tab etc. I have something called TEFview, which I assume was free when I got it which produced the second screenshot. this is from a PM Melody file.
Nice song. Not sure about the Emvoice part, as it's too inconsistent, a few lines sounds awesome but most ... not.
I think it would have been better instrumental as it's a really great tune.
I'm really struggling with Emvoice and can't seem to finish the project I started long ago. There's supposed to come some mayor updates so we'll see what that gives.
thanks for the feedback. yes, it's always a question I ask myself midway through a project, is this for "lucy" or should I go instrumental (I'm looking back at my catalogue of instrumentals at present and seeing whether any of them could have vocals).
In the last few tracks I've created an instrumental version, but for this one missed it out.
I guess in my own mind, i've coped with "her" not being quite right, the same way I cope with lots of vocalists in the past not being quite there (I'm a Human League/Soft Cell fan, and some of their early vocals were way off key!), but I've always enjoyed the challenge of getting it as good as I can.
Still, look forward to anymore emvoice updates.
Maybe I expected too much when I bought the voice/s but I do get some perfect and get very impressed and then next verse is just a big fuck up and no matter what I try I can't get it right (i.e what I expect). There's so much work to get it (somewhat) right and I've been experimenting with the phonem options and full stops to no avail, those parts really need some love.
thanks, I use scaler 2 , just never with another source - so will give that a go.
