Anyone using Pure Acid and FabFilter Saturn 2 together?
How’s it all sounding? 😍
I can’t find any demos/videos/ examples out there.
According to my calculations that I have jotted down it should be fantastic. Is it indeed?

I don’t mean to be too reductive, but it’s a synth and a distortion/saturator. They all do the same things, they’re just packaged differently. Both are well-acclaimed around here so their quality is vouched for. Your hunch is probably right.
Thank you for your reply.
Dang…. If I had known that they all do the same thing I wouldn’t have bought so many 🤨
So you reckon I can test out my theory by using one of the apps I already have?
If you own Pure Acid but not Saturn, then try the free Black Distortion from Nembrini which models the Rat pedal as used by Hardfloor and more and should produce a classic acid tone.
I have both and can confirm they sound great together. But that said, Saturn makes everything sound better.
I mean at the veeeeery basics yes, but if you use Grind and SM2 vs Saturn and Pure Acid, you’re gonna get totally different results. All sound different, have their own unique workflows and characteristics, features unique to that specific app, etc.
Seems kinda like someone asking if a Camry is a good car and someone else replied, well the Chevy Malibu is great and they’re all the same so the Camry should be good lol
It does indeed sound really good 👍
i like the distortion in pure acid also.
This does indeed make an instant Hardfloor sound. BYOD is also a pretty good partner for Pure Acid.
Haha don’t get me started on cars
No, I only reckoned that a strong forum endorsement is your best bet for reliable information instead of a super specific YouTube or audio example (that I assumed was not out there since you were unable to find one).
Funny you mentioned a Chevy Malibu, because that's the car I'm currently leasing! 😎
😂😂😂 noted.
Funny enough mines the Toyota 😂
Hahaha! Toyota seems like a nice brand too. But does your car have a sunroof?![;) ;)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/wink.png)
😂 Unfortunately not. And it’s newer so no CD player either (yes I still love CDs).
You are correct of course - it does sound great in it’s own right.
It is indeed awesome. I’ve tried pure acid with all the distortions I have and they are all pretty great with it
Still love my CDs too. Subaru stii had cd player as standard equipment until last year. Now it's a option on certain models.
Rocking my cd in mine all the time.
It’s an option on my car as well but I bought used so I didn’t have a choice 😂 so I just use Spotify. CDs just sound the best and feature wise are the easiest and most rich of all the physical media. I love Vinyl and tape too, but I was born into the era of the tape and was stoked that you could skip tracks easy on CDs so I never looked back 😂
When cd came out I was all in. I hated cassette with a passion. Sound degradation, tape getting stuck.
I am also not that much of a fan of vinyl either. But I understand what people like about them. The whole ritual.

You guys remember the “enhanced” CDs of the mid to late 90s? Pop them in your CD-ROM drive and get access to bonus material (music videos, live videos, etc). Always exciting. And a huge drag when the content sucked and was just like a promo or something.
Those were the days! Hoping a low-res .avi file was in the bonuses or something awesome. 😅
Yes. I put Saturn on everything.
@jwmmakerofmusic
Only mildly related, but the nostalgia vein has been opened, and it’s one of my favorite stories ever. We’d finally gotten a computer in ‘98 and my mom and I were in Office Max to buy the Encarta ‘98 Encyclopedia (CD-ROM of course), and it wouldn’t ring up at the register. The cashier lady gets on the phone over the whole store and says, for all to hear, “I need a price check on the Erotica Encyclopedia”. My mom was mortified. I’ll have to remind her of that when I see her next.
Bwahaha! 😂🤣💀
I love all 3 but when CD first came out I never intended to go back. Later down the road I did of course. And I love tape degradation. But quality wise it doesn’t get better than CDs.
Yep. And the dreaded dualdisks so your movies and CDs could get scratched on both sides 🤦🏻♂️
Heres a bit of a jam.. Fabfliter Sautrn 2 is on drambo and also on the Master buss. So pure acid is getting processed by it in an overall compression/mastering kinda way.
Its worth the money in my opinion, i think the saturations in it help deal with the perfectly sterile mixing conditions of modern DAWs.

Love Saturn for light mastering. Being able to control the bands separately helps a lot. And as far as saturation goes, the added feedback parameter can lead to some really cool stuff and really being out some unique harmonics in your music.
