Hello ABF you wonderful forum

I’m a new iOS producer but I’ve been involved with production since the early 2000’s. I just started my own, solo project (without my technically proficient band mate) so I had a 6 month learning curve between learning a daw (in my case dRambo) .

Genre is fusion : Trap+Edm+shred + middle eastern music.

This first post and song will just show my first song I did in dRambo and since I have been trying other DAWs and I’ll need to continue on that journey before I can make a real finished track but without further ado it’s on the Drambo forum

Please be patient with me if I ask something I should know, because I’ve only been at this 6 months - but it was time , high time, I put something out there

Thanks for listening

(PS with certain members gone I can safely say openly to anyone wondering. I was here 3 months earlier as FAL but that’s dRambo origin and I started fresh, ask vets if you need to, but I’m a good standing member afaik)

  • Welcome! I enjoyed your track

  • Thank you very much. Especially for listening :)

  • Welcome indeed… don’t be put off by the lack of comments… keep creating and posting… I enjoyed it 👌

  • Glad you are here! Nice track. I especially liked the little vocal bits you threw in. You will enjoy participating. There is no right or wrong. Everybody does their own thing. One of the great things about ABF are the collaborations. I have done quite a few and have learned something new from each one. Don’t be shy about reaching out. Keep them coming!

Thanks on both. I am working outside of dRambo now and results are mediocre but as soon as I get a nice song written, I have the stuff I need to mix/master. Now to rid this pesky block

Thanks a lot. The vocals were needed to break up monotony. At the time I made this I didn’t have Zenbeats 3 so I just had limited audio so I left it out. Now w Zb3 I have made new explorations into sounds with trap and metal but I don’t think I know how to balance synthesizers well in the mix

Writing with synth is something I always dreamed of doing so I used iOS production as an excuse to get to it. 3 months and no real progress but I’m still going to work at it

Also getting a hardware synth made me really dig working with the Roland S-1. It even works as a midi controller ; I think it made me see how to use a synth better . It also showed me I need to get a better perspective on my music in general

If all else fails I’m going to just say, “HEY, at least I tried “….we’ll sorta heheheheh
