Any opinions on the IAP Pianos in BeatHawk?
I'm wondering if anyone has opinions or experience with the subject of this post. I'm intrigued by the two IAP piano sound packs in BeatHawk: Acoustic Grand (modeled after Steinway Concert Grand Model D), and the Studio Grand (modeled after some unnamed Austrian-built concert grand - probably Bösendorfer).
The acoustic grand sounds pretty nice. This is the same company that offers the Ravenscroft 275 for $35.99, but both of these are available for $9.99 each. There are no controls for the piano sounds other than the ADSR and a couple of simple effects, but I've been having fun searching for decent sounding and reasonably priced pianos on iPad. They all seem to have pros and cons, and I've been most impressed with the Pianoteq, but that's in a higher price tier.
Comments
They are very good, IMO the best pianos in that price range. Note that RC275 is occasionally on sale 50% off and is definitely a step up. The Beathawk pianos are also occasionally on sale at 50% off too though!
@TimRussell - Thanks!
P.S. - I found some interesting comparisons of pianos on iOS from the YouTube channel of Fausto Ferreira. He also reviews the some of the best electric pianos on iOS. His one reservation on the BeatHawk pianos (both Acoustic and Studio) is that they are unable to produce a strong fortissimo sound. In other words, they may be fine for productions where they are supporting and a big dynamic range is not essential. I'm planning to give them a try in the future for $10 a pop.
