Any suggestions of how to export midi out of Drambo into Logic

I’m looking for the path of least resistance.

Drambo is hosted within Loopy Pro by the way.

Current method is to hook up Loopy to Logic using virtual midi. Works pretty well but it’s a bit of a faff and sometimes the notes need lining back up afterwards.

Ideally I’d be able to quickly grab the midi somehow and use the share menu to share the midi and open it in Logic.

I did think about midi tape recorder, but I couldn’t get the second input cable to work. Would mean recording each bit separately, saving as a file somewhere, and importing into Logic. Makes me think there’s probably a better way.

I always wonder why Drambo doesn’t have midi export. Seems so basic for the app that can seemingly do everything else.

The answer to questions like this is almost always: the to-do list is long and time is short. Implementing it would have meant something else not being implemented. At least, this can be accomplished by workarounds.

What problem did you have with MIDI Cables? I am sure that Michael or the MTR developer would want to know so that they can address if its a bug. I just gave it a quick whirl and the second cable was working for me routing from drambo to mtr in loopy.

  • What about saving your drambo project and opening it in Logic?

Could you not just host Drambo inside Logic and record the MIDI there?

Yeah this is probably the easiest way actually isn’t it. Don’t know why I didn’t think of this 😂
