best multi-input/output interface for ios/ipad
Hi all,
I was wondering if anyone had wisdom to share on the best affordable multi-in/out (4+) audio interface for ipad/ios?
I have my eye on the focusrite Scarlett 18i8, even though it requires being set-up on a mac, I'm hoping it works fine after that (without having to go back to reprogram on the mac), so any direct experience with this would be appreciated...
However, anything with at least 6 inputs and 4 outputs would also work.
thanks!
I have a 2018 ipad pro (3rd gen)

I have a Scarlett 4i4. Works well for guitar and vocal. Their is a iOS app for Focusrite but I have no tried it.
Before I had a Steinberg UR24C. It worked also well.
Hi, my Behringer UMC1820 has been reliable and versatile - it brought my various kit to life - all connected and easily routed (in and out) via AUM - its been around since 2016! Today it's a bit more expensive, about £220 but I wouldn't hesitate to buy one again. Check it out.
TX-6
Using Motu 8A here.
Previously had the 16A, great interfaces.
If you think you might ever want to route audio between devices, the iConnectivity Audio 4c is a good choice. It's the only one I'd buy at this point so as to leave that door open.
oh great, thanks all, I'll check these out. UMC1820 seems like a very affordable options still.
I own it and it's absolutely bonkers
As a side question, which app could do a simple mutichannel recording which shows the waveforms as an audio editor? I have been able to do this using AUM but a way to edit them as well would be awesome
