Moon Child (Chillhop, Doo wop)
A Moon Child is a unique and a curious soul who is often in a daze, his or her mind is always out of this world. A Moon Child don’t not always mean they are born under the Cancer zodiac sign, but they are just drawn to the moon in a way that can’t be explained.

Creative notes
This is a piece I put together to relieve frustration around a bigger project.
It's Chillhop but with a very familiar chord progression in the A section harking back to many doo wop hits of the 50s and 60s. The jazz guitar (Roland JV2080) also sounds like it is from that era to me. The B section has some more interesting harmonic shapes and deviates from the 'same four chords' that Chillhop structure usually uses. I wanted to go on a little adventure but not too far, so it gets back to the A theme via a straightforward sus4.
This contains a number of experiments with panning. I'm using TruePan for some autopanning, static pans for some instruments, dynamically 'riding' the panpot for the strings in the B section, and a spectral spread for some of the piano arpeggiated chords.

Take a moment to enjoy today's Super (Full) Blue Moon, occurring now. The next Super Moon isn't until September 2024.

Very chill, bro. I like the piano incursion.
Thanks. This one was all about trying to achieve more with width, especially with those piano arps, while leaving room so things sounded deeper too. I feel like I learned something at least!
I love this. The sparse percussion is just right. It sounds great in my headphones. Lovely track!
Super. Moon.
Lovely track, enjoyed it a lot, nice guitar tone 👍
I think I’ve asked you before but how the heck do you get the full size image in your embedded SoundCloud links. I think your the only person I’ve ever seen do it 🤨
Thanks for the positive feedback, and from Forum pros too, I'm humbled.
The guitar comes from my Roland JV2080, a rackmount rompler from the mid 1990s, sampled into Audiolayer via my Minifuse, with a Bleass Delay and a Blackhole for spacey depth.
I create Soundcloud links like this...
1. Logon to soundcloud from web browser
2. Goto Your tracks
3. Click on the ... menu for the track and select copy link
Might be the ‘link button’ bit… I’ll try that next time… thanks 🙏
Beautiful piece, the sampled guitar sounds totally convincing and the melodies are great.
Nicely relaxed.
