Segments - changing midi setting for one AUV3 instance also changes all other instances

I've not noticed this before, but when I open mulitple instances of EG Segments in either AUM or ApeMatrix, I can't set each instance to a unique midi input channel -- changing one instance to, e.g., midi input channel 3 changes all of them to channel 3. Which makes it difficult to do certain things.

Anyone else have this issue? Or is it just me?

Segments came out to much fanfare, but you don't hear much talk about it any more. Folks using it these days?

Thanks, cheers, ta

What are you routing to Segments? If you are using ApeMatrix or AUM, you could work around Segments’ internal setting by leaving it on All and using the host’s midi filtering to only let the desired channel through to each instance.

Im using Senode, with has three graphs outputting three midi streams on 3 different channels. I want 3 segments instances each to receive one channel. I don’t see how to do this. Because I cannot implement several instances of segments, with each on a different midi in channel. And Senode does not have multiple midi outs, it just has one out that sends patterns on different channels. Alternatively, I don’t know what I’m talking Using AM or AUM as a host makes no difference. your help is appreciated.

  • OK, I see what you’re getting at now . It makes sense, I’m not sure why I didn’t think of it last night,. Maybe because 4 am. it does sound like the obvious solution, so I consider the issue resolved, unless I run into more trouble. thanks, I appreciate the input.

  • This happened with another app not too long ago and the developer had to update the app.
