Flight of Fancy

No apologies for yet another Piano Motifs inspired piece with my favourite SWAM Soprano Saxophone.
Sounds provided by Ravenscroft 275, BeatHawk Fretless Vibrato Bass, Descent Sampler and Roli Noise Drums.
Effects are FAC Alteza and TB Reverb

  • This is a masterpiece! That sax is killer. I am hearing deep, emotional lyrics in the melody. This is probably your finest. Outstanding!

  • Really nice composition! Nice work

Lots of mystery in your process here… how do you slide up into the pitch like that? I expect it’s knwoing GeoShred’s interface well but it still eludes me how you do it. I love when you show the video of the live playing.

You also got something very compelling out of Piano Motifs. It’s sounds like you really slowed down the BPM to make a more spare arrangement. The BeatHawk “Total Bass” ‘fretless vibrato’ preset sounds great. I just grab iFretless bass for most of my bass needs and it’s got a great collection of options.

  • Powerful 3 minutes. A beauty. Even before the sax comes in. I like the ending, too, but wasn’t ready for it

This really is close to a real damn good studio song for like the ending of a scene with Mel brooks in lethal weapon or something late 80z early 90s cop action movie. Anyway it’s really good

    Sorry… I couldn’t resist this softball of a prompt.

I’d love to see Mel Brooks in “Lethal Weapon” or Mel Gibson in “Blazing Saddles”.

    I’d pay to see that.

LMAO! Whoops, that’s funny ! Good one

  • Enjoyed it, the sax is captivating.

  • Thanks @Paulieworld , @jdp000 , @McD , @myapologies , @dreamcartel and @azul3D_Apps .
Just slide the finger @McD . On this I had Round and Snap in GS switched off. Makes it harder to play but I think is more realistic.
Blazing Saddles is of course famous for its Wind Ensemble scene 💨

  • Oh my god this is exquisite mate! I just love the whole vibe. ☺️

Thanks for the clues on “Round and Snap”. It’s definately more realistic. It reminds me of those MIDI controller soloists that
mastered the use of the pitch bend control to sound more like a guitarist using string bends. Jan Hammer with the Mahavishnu Orchestra and as the composer of the Miami Vice theme. He made a solo album that was all synth but you would never have guessed.

Jeff Beck once said Jan Hammer was his favorite guitar player.

  • Cheers @jwmmakerofmusic 👍
I love the solos Jan Hammer does on Birds of Fire @McD and @Paulieworld, loads of note bending.
I was lucky enough to see him in the 70s with the MO 😊
