Closest IOS set up to be like a Push 3

So I just picked up Ableton 11 suite and was thinking of picking up a Push 2 but then I realized my iPad could probably do much more as a midi controller. Starting with AUM and just adding different apps surely you could make a perfect controller for Ableton. Anyone doing this at all?

  • Got very lucky to get a Push3 i think during first wave.
There’s nothing like it. The 1-1 controls, screen, feedback. MPE. It’s out of this world fun.

However. Fun as donkeys on iPad with Abe?
Maybe AUM w/ Loopy Pro inside(even has a Ableton like layout)
Add some controllers in loopy to manipulate Ableton.
Probably launch clips pretty easily with a grid.

Add in Midi Poly Grid (as background app) and play Ableton with some really nice Mpe expression.
    So many ways.
    But Push 3 oofta
    Make the music!
    Have the fun!

That’s awesome man. Hard to believe I paid 2k for Op-1 Field where as for the same amount of money you can do so much with Push 3. I’m gonna mess with AUM today and see what I can come up with.

I use Drambo to sequence Ableton synths and that’s a lot of fun.

If you’re into Step Sequencers it’s the best way to go.

LK also allows you to control Ableton as a sort of Push 2 simulator on iPadOS.

Touchable was amazing but i haven’t used it in a while but will check it out today to see if it still works. It was the best Ableton iPad controller there was.

On the iPad, sending MIDI to the Mac?

  • I’ve never tried it with Ableton yet but you could build a decent controller in Loopy Pro.

It’s extremely flexible in what you can assign controls to do.
