Dirge (XinematiX, Animoog Z, TAL-U-NO-LX, Continua)
This is a music track that I improvised on an iPad with the XinematiX, Animoog Z, TAL-U-NO-LX, and Continua synth apps. I used MIDI Tape Recorder (within AUM) to capture the performance and AUM to record the audio.
After bringing the audio recording into Vegas Pro, I applied the Lurssen Mastering Console plug-in to the audio mix.
It's titled Dirge.

Perhaps strangely, one of my favorite orchestral pieces is "Funeral March No.1" (formerly attributed to Beethoven). A very moving piece.
Love this! I love how it feels like I'm floating in mid air. And the choir sounds amazing! If that is Xinematix, I may have to start saving up my money lol.
Wow. Which XinematiX package has that choir with all the vocal syllables? I’m guessing you used MIDI splits if this was a one shot improvisation.
As always, it’s a carefully crafted improvisation with excellent post-performance mastering.
It’s nice to see you using all IOS apps to show our our riches compared to treasures only available on your desktop like
Omnispehere and Kontakt instruments.
Yes, the choir sounds are all from XinematiX.
Not sure which package it's in, but the preset I was using is labeled as Multi Phrase Choir 1.
No, I didn't use any MIDI splits. It was a one-shot improvisation using AUM's built-in keyboard. All the synths were fed the full range of notes, though I did spend some time trying out the preset mix to get an intuitive feel for how the synths would react together.
@McD, I checked the XinematiX sound list (https://www.virsyn.net/manuals/xinematix/XinematiX_ SoundList.pdf). The Multi Phrase Choir 1 preset that I was using is in the Phrase Choir sound library.
Thanks. @Virsyn has lowered the pricing of all packs by 50%. You can also import any Xinematix pack into AudioLayer and purchase in Audiolayer too, I think. downloading is done to storage in each app.
Improvising fir choir sounds like fun. @linearlineman! Check this out. (He’s not checking the forum daily).
That Phrase Choir implementation is epic. If you play one note the phrase starts and if you then add another note or two they all start in sync with the original phrase.
It’s hard to understand how to implement that sync’ed start point in AudioLayer. I hope the option gets explained by someone.
AudioLayer 1.8 has an updated manual too.
That's probably why it was so easy (and rewarding) to improvise with. It does much of the heavy lifting for you.
Lovely track, amazing that it was all done with just the AUM keyboard 👌
Thanks, @GeoTony. The presets didn't need more than a simple keyboard. They were quite expressive on their own.
