What are your broken dreams? Are they any good?
I was well into mid-forties (like a decade ago in pedro-years) when I even tried to come up to my senses of the unfortunate realization that I hadn’t a musical voice the world would recognize as the second coming of christ
But I have always, from the time I remember, had this (unfounded?) certainty that I was somewhat “special”. I guess who doesn’t? There’s this witness in the back of my head that knows better, problem is that this witness seems to be the silent type when regarding to what I should do with my life.
What are your experiences, if you care to share?
TL;DR: @pedro is past his bedtime, and now he's talking about himself in 3rd person, ffs

I had an art website in the 90s / early 2000s that had good traffic and I got lots of email and opportunities from different flattering places, then once the barrier to entry of simply making a website was lifted by the rise of social media platforms etc and real artists flooded the internet I realized I was a true nobody. Sure took the pressure off though as then I could just enjoy my niche hobbies without having to 'make something of it', so all good in the end. Being 'known' didn't fit me well anyway, don't much care for attention ultimately.
Always wanted to be a famous musician when growing up. Now I'm simply a successful musician, and that's more than satisfying for me. I play piano locally, I produce beats for a couple friends who can rap, and it's a rather cosy life.
When it comes to music I never had shattered dreams. By the time I was 24 (hello napster) it was clear making a living off of just albums wasnt going to work for anyone anymore (turns out it pretty much never really did for anyone ever lol), but for a brief moment of four years when the web happened it seemed like maybe a person could just make a site, press cds and... oh wait, whats that? The world changed? Huh, think I had an idea for something... uh, ahh screw it, I just like making music anyway.
I wanted to be a baseball player before I got into music and also realized I’m probably too short to excel in baseball and should have played soccer instead. Damn you, Ozzie Smith.
Every time I get a like from a bot on Soundcloud.
I wanted to be either a musician, a writer or an actor, and had some minor success at all 3. However, I came to the realization that I’m really happy doing the first two as much or as little as I like, and get a huge amount of pleasure doing them only for myself.
