Stable Audio

... is here, but is running sloooow atm. Too many users. Sound quality based on prompts is promising in their audio sample examples.

Working slightly better now. I got this output from the prompt "minimalist piano piece, sparse yet beautiful, b minor".

(Also testing whether mp3 attachments give you a play button here. Nope.)

  • tried it, but result was just unusable mess 🤣🤣🤣

The examples seem to have a lot of tags in them, also i think that for atmospheres and sample chopping might be really nice.

well you can record literally banging with spoon on steel pot and when you chop the samples and use it creatifely you can make grrst music with it, so i doesn’t see much added value here :-))

I mean. There is tons of material around to sample, chop and process, not needed to use AI for that.

I am still waiting for AI where i just choose musical genre and it starts generate in realtime endless stream of music which i will actually enjoy to listen, and during playing it will be capable to adjust continuosly music based on my comments …

Yep the only thing I like AI music for is royalty free sample fodder to chop up and mangle.

  • I selected some tags from here https://bandcamp.com/tags

To create the prompt "indie pop chill loop 100bpm"

That’s a useful idea! Ask for something and chop segments on the transients and import into AudioLayer.
I need to investigate the new sample editor in AudioLayer 1.8 anyway. One shots stop when it detects silence too.

yah beats getting copyright strikes on samples you paid for

  • Using "solo sample of" is very useful.

Lemme know how you get along with it. I love using AI to make random loops then going crazy with them in Koala. I need to dive into the new AudioLayer update as well. It’s a great app.

Lol you’re not lying 😂 most of the time I transform the sample to the point it’s unrecognizable anyway but it’s nice to know when you don’t have to worry about that.

For quick lazy work for hire/favors I have been dinged. But yah for personal stuff it is mashed up enough.

I usually mangle man beyond belief lol but I’ve never used any copy written material in anything I’ve released. Yet. Lol

  • Creepy af

I asked for a sound fx pack

For textures/risers this is wild, it seems to extract qualities from the sounds that make them weirdly alien and familiar at the same time

A lot of it reminds me of early realplayer days where every track was like an idm remix.
