Da Blues (Svetlovska Collaboration)
An attempt at some 'swamp-like blues' as prompted by @Svetlovska, who kindly provided the 'NoInputMixer' drone/backing/thing (which sounds amazing!).
I'm using: Strat -> Nembrini Centaur -> BG Extasy -> 2x Delay3000 -> DDMF MagicVerb -> TB Barricade
Comments
Swampy enough for me!
Nice guitar chops on display.
I like the way you chopped up the NoInputMixer track to provide space your your guitar licks. That is one dirty Strat! Great playing as usual!
Loved the descending chord sections and the playing from 3:00 to 3:45 (ish). Great idea to chop the backing up 🙏
Nice! I have been playing around with the backing track today, so glad that the ideas I have been throwing around are still different from all the other takes.
Definitely has a great structure that comes from cutting it up.
Thanks, @McD, glad to quench your swamp thirst.
Thanks for listening @AlterEgo_UK @GeoTony. The idea to chop the backing up was very last-minute - I wanted it to sound more like a drummer or something.
Thanks, @michael_m. Look forward to hearing your take.
I have it completed, and will upload it later. Wanted to be sure that @Svetlovska got a preview before anyone else.
Nice, proper swampy, I should give it a proper blues go as well, so much fun!
I like the composition very much, those cuts and pauses are new to my ears. Guitar mastery is on a high level, as usual. @Svetlovska touch transforms the whole theme into something unusual and new. Just fantastic! 🤩

Great ! Thanks for this. I am just so impressed with the diversity and talent of members on this forum who participated in this little exercise. Such different takes!
You probably have enough to release a collaboration album of the various versions, and who knows if there’s even more to come?
Nice one Paul ! Really would like to hear Tom Waits's gravelly voice on this track cause it is very close to his musical realm!
Great take on this, looks like @Svetlovska is taking over the creations, making my efforts all the more vein! J/k it is making me think outside the box so hearing the guitar , whcih was really good @pbelgium , compared to the harmonica and slide version is cool to see how two people took two roads with the same car so to speak
Great idea svetlovska to involve ; if I was up to the task I would try but no way in hell I’m going to go now after these were so well done
Happy I got close to the swamp sound, hadn’t really heard of it. I listened to some Justin Johnson before recording this for inspiration - minus slide, must get one.
I liked your take very much, but another blues version wouldn’t go amiss.
Where did you guys get her backing track
Thanks for listening, hope to hear more.

@dreamcartel : my advice, fwiw, give it a go anyway, have fun, go wild, and only post it if you like what you make.

I am. I’m sending it to you for review before posting it because I have stage fright going on after Michael and Pelgium
If it needs fixing, just let me know where. My mixing and mastering aren’t as good as you either, and I can tell from your backing track so please lmk if you want the “stems”(is that the right way of saying raw separate tracks?) or if I should just try my best and put it up? First time I did a collaboration so I’m excited but I want to nail it too
My bad, which file is it?
Just go for it! Don’t worry so much about what anyone else might think of it, just make it your own.
Thanks for listening and the kind words, much appreciated.
Thanks, once again, for the drone/inspiration, and thanks for the repost - I don't get many plays!
Thanks JF. It's beyond my vocal abilities, but I made the track downloadable if you want to try a Tom Waits impersonation.
Didn't like it at the beginning but ended up playing it all.. I guess I liked it lol. Weird drone/guitar interaction but interesting for sure.
"Temptation, I just can't resist! Ooooooooh aaahhhh aaaahhhh !"
Thanks for listening to the end.
That would be so good! You might need a bottle of whiskey.
Send me a full crate !
