Dr. Who And The Butthole Servers

Comments

  • Nice one, and with a cameo from a classic foe too :-)

  • Reminds me of 90s Techno/Rave music! I love it!

  • Another nice energetic collage Paul. Everything you do makes me want to copy something. In this case it’s the drum parts.

  • The Butthole Servers. Perfect.
    Wish I’d thought of that.
The guitar does it for me.

When I was trying to think of a title, I remembered your most recent post. When in doubt, the doctor is always a good choice! Thanks for listening!

I didn't know what I was going to work on until I listened to your Iphone composition. Then it hit me... a "dance" tune... yeah! All I needed was a little shove in the right direction. Thanks!

This whatchamacallit was truly a collage in every sense of the word. The drums are from an ancient app called Launchpad. I hadn't used that for years. After hearing @jwmmakerofmusic's techno track, I decided to dust it off and fire it up. The sounds aren't all that great, but pretty good for the price. When you have several going at once, they are almost acceptable.

I was trying to come up something that was completely different from that last one. I think it was, wouldn't you say!

I also thought the thrashy, trashy metal guitars reminded me of the Surfers. I can't listen to them for more than a few minutes at a time, but they are always entertaining. Thanks for listening!

  • Very cool track, so varied.

  • Hmm..."collage"...maybe therein lies a whole new genre?
    Great track!

  • I used to love the Butthole Surfers, even though Gibby Haines is a bit of a grim individual. Locust Abortion Technician is still one of the weirdest albums I've ever heard.

The guitars definitely make this track, they give it the requisite edge and they are quite unexpected when they come in.

  • @Pxlhg @AlterEgo_UK Thanks for putting up with my nonsense. Have a good one!

That has to be one of the strangest albums of all time, although Captain Beefheart is right up there. I bought that album based on the cover art. I posted it below for anyone who hasn't seen it. I wonder if they regret picking such a strange name. I know that Toad The Wet Sprocket does! Oh well, as they say in Sweat Loaf - It's better to regret something you have done, than to regret something you haven't done. Thanks for listening.

Thanks mate. :) That means a lot to me.

    Great track!

The "French touch", ala Daft Punk and Justice. Very much microsampled collages.

  • Cool. I was almost expecting to hear “put the needle on the record. Put the needle on the record. Put the needle on the record when the drum beat goes like dis!” After a few bars.

it sounds like a late 80s M\A\R\R\S, Bomb the Bass type thing :-)

  • Great 90s vibe to it. I like this a lot.

  • @drewinnit @klownshed @michael_m
I havn't listened to Marrs in years, so I played it... several times! Brought back some great memories. Thanks!
