Hycean planets
Over the weekend, a little whatsapp group of friends each made a track to be inspired by the discovery of possible alien life on a Hycean planet by the JWST. This is my attempt, a combo of iOS synths, field recordings from my archive (mainly underwater gopro stuff, but also a recording of a diablo from Beijing when I was staying with a family in the Hutong district). some guitar whaling (pun intended) and a few other odds and sods I had lying unused in AUM recording folders..

Eerie. But very thoughtful. You really like sounds, i presume It does sound “alien” and I do like the percussive running underneath.
Cheers, I’m definitely a collector of odd sounds it must be said, my hard drives are stuffed with nonsense from thirty years of sampling and hoarding 😅
Some great sounds, put together to create something even greater than the parts that were great… if you see what I mean 👍
Thanks Tony, I’d actually forgotten about this in the chaos of the last two weeks. Hearing it again, I think I might add a layer or two when I get home, maybe some gentle Hilda bass, and a tinkly little melody, that is if I remember of course 😅
So that's how music is supposed to sound through an atmosphere of methane, carbone dioxyde and dimethyl sulfide ? Sounds great ! 😉
Very cool indeed, love it!
