JWM - Chillin Out (Lofi produced 100% in Koala Sampler on iPhone)

What I love most about Koala Sampler is the immediacy of the workflow. Okay, so sampling one-shot instruments in AUM isn't as conducive as, say sampling directly into Koala Sampler, but with limited screen realestate on the iPhone, I gotta make do. Plus it's more fun to sample that way for me personally.

So I recorded the one-shot instruments from Module Pro last night and dumped them into my "Koala projects" folder. This morning I had to take my Chevy Malibu in to be repaired, so I was well prepped ahead of time to formulate the beat while waiting in the lobby of the auto repair shop.

Once back home, I fininished the beat and recorded it. I discovered under BPM settings the sequencer snap options, so live recording the beat wasn't nearly the hassle as it was for "Koala Stock". All this while I've owned Koala, and not once did I ever see that option. 😂 I must be blind or something.

Anyways, more notes on how I routed things in the SoundCloud description, you know the drill. Cheers and enjoy.

  • This one’s nice 👍. Sounds slick.

Also, the piano sits much better in the mix than the one you made yesterday, imo.

  • Two bangers in sequence?
You are on fire, mate :sunglasses:

Awesome one too. You inspired me to try and be productive

Thanks mate. :) Yep, for "Koala Stock", I didn't fully utilise all the mixing features I had available such as the EQ-per-pad and tone controls. I was more focused on the novelty of having a bussing mixer. 😂 For "Chillin Out" I made much more extensive usage of all of those various features (and a touch of resampling) to make everything gel together better.

Awww mate, thank you. :) When I get into my creative bag, it's like I'm unstoppable. And then, I burn out for about a week, and then I'm back in action. Last burnout lasted a month, so maybe I should pace myself a bit more. 😂

Nice! Always better to be productive than bored I always say. This is why I don't own a television in my flat. All it would do is collect dust and be an eyesore, because most television bores me to tears. I can barely sit through a movie unless it's "Pulp Fiction" for the billionth time.

Besides, there's nothing much good on these days outside of sports as far as I know, but I can go out to a pub and have a few pints when I want to watch the Packers win. It's always more fun with other fans around instead of being holed up in my flat. Plus my favourite pub, Major Goolsby's, gives out free shots for each Packers touchdown, so by the time a successful Packers game is finished, I'm properly pissed out of my gourd and require an Uber home. 😂

Anyways, right, less television (except for sports), and more music!

  • Bumping for others to have a listen. Cheers to a happy weekend ahead! 🍻
