An app that alters parameters slightly to easily create sections?

I wanted to have a go at building some string sections using swam and was wondering if there’s an app that minutely adjusts the timing and some parameters of one played instrument so you could play a load of instances at once?

I remember messing about a little with one of the tuning/harmony apps awhile ago but it sounded terrible.

I think I heard of an app called divisimate that does somethung related on pc-possibly just for playing a load of instruments at once though which you can do on aum anyway.

  • Midi Layers from 4Pockets might be what you are looking for.

  • I have thought about this idea before and it's something that I would still like to see. I think the main challenge would be to figure out a good system for offsetting the modwheel input for each instrument; I can visualize it, but I haven't been able to translate it into code. Even though we don't have a lot of instruments where the modwheel blends between the dynamic layers on iOS, it would be cool to be able to create an ensemble out of any instrument.

It would be easy enough add a random delay and microtuning amount to each note. But personally, I would also want it to impact the curves created by the modwheel. SWAM will be releasing their own ensembles soonish, so I don't know that you will find much interest here in creating something like this. But I'm interested.

Midi Layers offers the convenient switching of Divisimate, but I don't think it offers the advanced humanization options.

Yeah ensembles is what I’ve been looking forward to most. Although I read it’s only mono which is lame. Initially at least. They’ also have world instruments which will be a handful of ethnic things on their kind of redundant replanned roadmap.

  • Drambo has some very cool randomization. An low random lfo to the Morph module to any parameter you want could be one of infinite choices
