2 MIDI keyboards connected wirelessly to iPad at the same time?

Anybody knows if it is possible to play on 2 MIDI keyboards wirelessly connected to iPad?
If yes, are there any limitations or can I use any MIDI host app for this?
I already have one wireless MIDI keys and considering to buy CME Widi UHost for the second one.
Thank you.

  • That should not be a problem.

  • You could buy a launchpad x and have different midi channels for 8 custom modes. These custom modes still use the arrows to transpose.

For a similar price as a widi.

My korg microkey isnt no way as good and will be relegated to bleass voices ( in aum ) or a sampler ipad.

Keyboard is almost as good as midi generators but with korg. I only played a pad.

That said. The launchpad is on my left side. Slightly less good to play live than right side ( if doing live jams )

but is best placement for overall control.

  • @wim Thank you.
@sigma79 I don't need additional keyboard/controller for me. Second MIDI keyboard will be for the person I want to play/learn/jam with at the same time.

  • I have used 3 different keyboards and a wireless pedal board too:
    1. Xkey Air 37
    2. Arturia KeyLab MkII (with a CMI WIDI Jack)
    3. Keith McMillen K-Board-C (with a CMI WIDI uHost)
    4. iRig Blueboard

    @jamietopol
Thanks! Are you using 2 uHosts for Keith McMillen K-Board-C or just one? I have read that the stated latency of 3ms is only valid if the connection is made by two uHost devices. My uHost arrives today and I'm really curious how it will work with my AKAI LPK25.

I just use one WIDI uHost (combined with the iPad's Bluetooth capabilities). I don't notice any significant latency.

  • @jamietopol I purchased UHost 3 days ago and confirm that. But I had different problem and I decided to return it.

  • That's too bad regarding the skipped notes. I haven't had that issue.

  • @jamietopol Me either with 2nd keys I have. Something weird is happening between my AKAI and uHost.
