    Sometimes there’s a need for a self-signed or even expired certificate ON THE LAN. On the public Internet, there is just no damn excuse. If you can’t keep up with cert maintenance you sure as shit aren’t patching or fixing vulnerabilities. Therefore congratulations, your server is part of a botnet.
