Just another ambient. “Lake Tahoe”

Hey all. I did this one in aum, with Gauss, Noises, Ivcs3, Ripplemaker driven by the Turing patch in mosaic, Wires and Rymdigare. It’s a sort of west-coast flavored ambient thing. The video is a re-edit of a tourism video dedicated to the titular lake. Hope someone might like it.

It’s just another ambient thing…

  • Love it! Must check out that Turing patch. Lovely deep evolving tones. And a great find for the accompanying vid. ‘Just another ambient thing’ ? Wouldn’t be surprised if it is also low effort non-music into the bargain. How very dare you? :)

Thank you!!!! Turing is really nice at 20 bpm - the best bpm.

Yes yes it’s very very low effort, it practically did itself while I grew my beard and picked out snazzy jumpers on Etsy

Thing is, if you’re working on a slow piece, it needs time for it to do its thing.

You can do short ambient, kind of like an audio haiku, but they’re really difficult to get right.

Long pieces just work differently. I have a couple of 70 minute recordings of generative patches which I’ve not released (hard to find a place to put them) which work more like audio incense, ie alter the atmosphere in a space. The listener’s attention can drift in and out, or they can just make a pleasant place to read or whatever. Which I guess is kind of like Eno’s original idea.
