Koala Sampler endless drone using the sequencer

I am trying to create “an endless drone” in Koaa. I saw somewhere in a YouTube video about how a recent Koala update improved midi sequencing to create “endless style loops”. Does anyone know how this works ?

  • Video link?

  • Agree with Wim. Would be helpful to see the actual video to get a better understanding of exactly what you’re trying to do.

  • Do you mean the ribbon looping in the piano roll? It’s just a way to select a part of the sequence and loop it to focus on editing it without having to listen to the entire sequence every time. It’s a recent update too.

Aww shucks guys!!! I’m very glad it was of use! Koala is much more capable now with the loop points and crossfades and the mixer rack! But I guess the idea is the same

It’s honestly a great vid, it’s very clear and you explained the concept very well, and it can be applied to many other samplers, great job 👍👍

Yes, thanks everyone here. What I mean is if I place a long midi note to extend almost to the the sequence end, which is triggering a pad , it often plays like one long never ending sound or drone. Sometimes however, I notice though it just stops and doesn’t play anymore, while the song is playing. Maybe this looping trick from the above tips, will solve this.

In the sample edit window you’ll find options for “loop” and “hold” so when you trigger a pad it will loop forever, remember to position your loop points!
