Is there MIDI effect that enables an “auto-octave” effect like the one in Geoshred?
I’d like to go to the end of a short (24 key keyboard), and then if I backtrack a certain threshold of steps, it automates going up an octave.
Does something like this exist? Maybe Mozaic?
Comments
I also use a 2 octave keyboard and I know that jumping octaves predictably would be useful.
I think a foot trigger would be ideal… 2 foot triggers: one for up an octave events and another for down.
I have a Blueboard so using that would be good for my needs. Do you have any foot-based hardware like a
sustain pedal that works with your 2 octave keyboard.
RE: YOUR ASK…. can you add more details to “a certain thresh old of steps”. Something like “when I reach within 2-3 notes from the top note and the next note is down more than a 5th” or such. With the same triggering applied on the lowest note.
What keyboard do you have… I have most of the smaller models. The M-Vave is my current fav for its bluetooth support and other details. But I have an Akai and an Arturia with USB connectivity.
I probably have 8 to 10 24-32 key keyboards lol.
What do you mean?
I’m assuming with that few keys you are playing one handed? Do you not have a keyboard with octave up and octave down buttons you could use for this, or as McD says, use a foot controller to change octaves?
Maybe add a few more details on what you are trying to do, as I’m sure someone can suggest a solution.

Can you answer any of the questions to enable a design of a script that might work for your request. It’s probably easy to do but I’d rather not guess on how to do it.
