Multiroute audio with Iphone 13 HELP
Hey yall, I want to know how it's possible to use both the Usb Audio interface and the Built In Output for headphones with my iphone 13. Do I need the dongle that has the 3.5mm headphone output? Thanks!

It won’t work. iOS only allows one audio interface to be active, which is the last one connected. And it treats built in headphone jacks (older models) or Apple’s headphone adapters as interfaces.
Solution is to use a USB audio interface which has its own headphone jack for monitoring.
Yeah, thats the problem. My Audio interface is actually a guitar multi fx unit, if i plug into the headphone output I will be listening to the fx of the unit and the audiobus fx together. I want a diferrent output to have the multi fx -> iphone reverb on audiobus. Now I'm just getting the audio without reverb from the multi fx and the audio with the reverb on audiobus..
The lightning port on that usb adapter is only for supplying power to the phone/iPad. It isn’t for data. So, plugging lightning dongle into it won’t work.
Would these type of dongle work? This one I'm using its a spare, not a official apple product and it works really great with my interface. I was wondering if one with the 3.5mm port would work..
Hi @mattferr . That's a good question, but I don't think so. It would be the same as having a USB hub with the audio interface and a USB headphone adapter connected. As already mentioned, the last audio device connected "wins", and becomes the only audio device the iPhone can see.
I have no idea if that would work. Multi-route audio is somewhat unpredictable.
I'm totally confused about what's happening
The audio interface should have audio out, hopefully with a few different connection options. Ie 3.5mm, 1/4in, etc…
Edit. This might not help, apologies
