I know its an iOS forum but...MS equivalent to Lumbeat?
Was thinking of re-instating a MS Surface Pro into live work and was wondering if anyone here has stumbled across a drum app similar to Lumbeat drums for windows?

Jamstix
I love Jamstix and also think it is closest to Lumbeat but IMHO UI and UX of Jamstix are not ready for touch device.
Jamstix!
I've never used it on a touch surface though. On the other hand I've never run into an app that's completely unusable on a touch surface. Even FL Studio is workable and that's a much more complicated UI than Jamstix.
It's been a long time since I used it and I can't remember how well it's suited for control by midi for performing. If you're looking to use it for performing, I can't say how well that would work out. I only ever used it in hosts and it was great.
Is anyone using a Surface in tandem with their iPad? I’ve been considering one for a long while but just haven’t taken the plunge yet.
Connectivity is a bitch for that. Were you envisioning audio or midi or both? Without an iConnectivity 4c or something it's workaround city.
Seriously? All Lumbeats apps export audio… just use them for your loop generator and let @LuisMartinez get credit for
the magic he has gifted us. The loops can be 128 bars in length so you will get all the fills and surprises that @LuisMartinez has invented.
We constantly covet Desktop apps begging for a port but @LuisMartinez has a probably roadmap to make his existing apps AUv3 but maybe he will be distracted and push out standalone MS versions. Darn.
I figured it would take an interface, I’m more just curious about other peoples experiences with both together. Like how was it? Fun? Worth it? Etc. there are a few cheap and free VSTs I’d like to try eventually.
Hopefully audio and midi but I know I’ll definitely need an interface for that.
Two interfaces actually - unless you have iConnectivity 4c or the older model.
I can think of few things more buzz killing than tethering my nice elegant iPad to a dorky windows machine.
Thanks all. I do own a licence for Jamstix 4, but find it too awkward tbh and I've never achieved the results often seen in videos
The idea of maybe porting iPad mini audio running Lumbeat apps I think might have some merit.
I’m sure it works fine in Windows, but the Mac version of Jamstix went to shit and the current version has been in beta for about 5 years and presumably abandoned.
I did use the Windows version in the past, but found the kits to be not very good. It’s phenomenal for generating MIDI though.
The best way to generate random MIDI regardless of the app you're using. 😂🤣
Dorky windows machine 😂 I love it. MIDI is not really a necessity. I mostly want to be able to send audio into Cubasis or Loopy Pro from what few VSTs I’ll have on it. Wish Windows would invest good money in making an actual tablet as elegant as an iPad Pro. The 2 of them together could be really cool.
More than that I just wish all devs would come to iOS lol
Thread title- it’s THE iOS forum
There are others
There are? I’ve never searched and found anything outside of this site which is why I signed up
Speaking of which are there hardware drummers that do random pattern generation? Volca does it so I’m just curious to see if there other randomizers (at least within a close price range, I say under $300) ?
lmao
(for the record I can’t believe you put Hennessy next to blehhh)
