JWM - Animals of the World (Justice Styled Track made in Koala Sampler)

Since I'm unsure if the sample flipped is copywritten or not, I'd better not upload this one to SoundCloud, lol. I entered a Koala Flip challenge which was to flip this song...

...and I decided instead of trying a HipHop genre, I'd go back to Justice. The entire thing was sequenced and mixed in Koala Sampler, with the final result being mastered in Cubasis 3. Please do enjoy.

Thank you so much mate. :) I really appreciate that. Honestly it felt fun to do a Justice-styled track again. It was easier to structure out than in NS2.

That said, I made this track in less than 4 hours from start to mastered, so there are parts I wish I could switch around. The reason I rushed it was to meet the deadline of the Koala Flip Challenge, lol. It'd sound better had I a bit more time. Most of my time last week was sucked up making "The Slasher", lol.

  • Just a slight bump to reach more ears. 😗🎵

  • Dang
    This is awesome mate
Captured the justice vibe from more than one album indeed

This rocks and it is impressive you did it in 4 hours
I can spend a whole week on a track, think its garbage and delete.
Which I constantly do lately

  • Not sure what "Justice" is in regard to genre, or what exactly flipping a sample involves, but this sounds great - very lofi and retro - also well arranged and pleasant to listen to.

Don’t know how I missed this one. It is really good; the bass really grabs you by the balls. Perfect mix and arrangement. Idk how much of the sample influenced your composition but w/e the case it’s excellent

Your drum, breaks, fills; all that stuff you drum are my favorites of all iOS ABF drummers I think (shout out to jdp as well as I just found him while I’ve been a fan of jim for quite a while)

Thanks mate. :) Been a huge fan of Justice since 2009. Oddly enough the original reason I didn't buy the "Cross" album until two years after its release is, I had no idea what to make of it. 😂 I didn't want to listen to any Christian Contemporary music.

Then I saw the "D.A.N.C.E." music video on Youtube. That's when I realised "This isn't Christian Contemporary! This is actually fantastic!" (No shade on those who like Christian Contemporary, rofl.) That's when I bought the album and confirmed what a great masterpiece of electronica it is.

This rocks and it is impressive you did it in 4 hours

Thanks again mate. :) I feel I could've done more with it, but eh whatever. It sounds just fine now that I spent time away from the track and relistened a few days later.

LOL! Yeah, my ADHD won't allow me to focus on a track for more than a week maximum. 😂 If I spend that long on something, I tend to lose interest.

Thank you so much mate. :) I guess Justice is akin to Daft Punk, and the genre is "French Touch" or something of that nature. According to Wikipedia, the genres are - French house, electro house, electronic rock, electroclash, nu-disco, and alternative dance. Whatever any of that means. 😂

Flipping a sample means just taking an already made piece of music and turning it into something different and new. It's like remixing in a sense.

I programmed the sample chops first which provided me my chord progression. :) Everything else just sort of fell into place.

Thanks again mate. :) That means a lot to me. Years of practice with drum programming.

Oooo, funkalicious! What a great piece of music! :)

  • I’m with Colin ( @AlterEgo_UK ) from the comment point of view and also vaguely geographically.
‘ Justice’ and `flipping’ haven’t reached this far north yet so I had to look them up 🤨

Haha, well looking up "Justice" will send you down the rabbit hole of amazing microsampled music! :)
