Soundfonts or audiolayer/iOS compatible instrument files
I just wanted to make a thread for this, not sure if one exists. I’m looking to try to get a pool of all the best places for soundfonts etc of a high quality. It doesn’t have to be a soundfont but a file type or convertible into one that will work on iOS through audiolayer or whatever.
Pianobook is the obvious place but there must be lots of others. I managed to find a hurdy gurdy the other day somewhere and can’t remember
Please no electronic/synth type stuff, just acoustic instruments or sounds, interesting stuff, hard to find stuff, world instruments, or bass guitars, drums etc. Paid or unpaid is fine
I’m particularly interested in weird or ethnic instruments, bass guitars of high quality and where to get really professional sounding round Robin drum packs. I saw Steven slade drums mentioned but don’t know if they’re soundfont or iOS compatible - or if soundfonts do round robins? Not sure they do.

There’s a handful of links for lots of cool stuff in the AudioLayer soundfont thread.
Here's a good list:

I have the Baby Piano, a toy piano with both natural and resynthesized sounds ($5.99), the Prepared Electric piano ($1.99 or $6.99), the Marching band horn ($1.30, resynthesized from acoustic samples), MC3A - electronic keyboard from the 90s ($5.55). All have free demos, visit my Products page:

And some free ones on my Free Sounds page, in the lower part of the page.

This is cool, thanks everyone!
Worth noting that you can buy many Digital Sound Factory soundfonts at a discounted price within Audio Evolution Mobile Studio. Obviously you need to own Audio Evolution to do this but they are amazing value for money and sound great in my opinion.
I bought 6 SF2 packages in AEMS years ago and I just checked using “RESTORE PURCHASES” on a newer iPad if they are there. There they are!
I can access the SF2 files in “On My Ipad/Audio Evolution/Soundfonts” and import into AudioLayer.
Or using the AEMS Web Browers access (http://192.168.10.174:50001 in my case, I am downloading one to my iPhone to test the import into AudioLayer. So, that’s 6 more quality SF2 libraries to check out for import and subsequent editing and potential layering in AudioLayer with export over to Xinematix. This is a nice upgrade for AudioLayer since I’m often seeking interesting live sounding instruments or seeking something with some bite to add to a custom preset. Like most DIY it does consume a tremendous amount of time but that’s why I keep spending the money… to find interesting things to work on.
Oof for the sake of my tiny amount of storage left I need to quit visiting this thread lol I’ve already downloaded too many DS packs from Pianobook lately.
