Three weeks at F8
My dad was a professional photographer in the days of black and white film and SLR / large format cameras that had no inbuilt light metering. He used a separate hand held exposure meter and had a standard answer to being asked what the reading was… ‘Three weeks at F8’
This piece is in 6/8 and something about that made me think of F8 and hence the title.

Well that was a weird one. Nice licks!
I like weird ! Thanks @jdp000 👍
F stop now there’s a memory, red light and the smell of silver solutions.
Different for sure. Not the type of music for me but the mix sounds great!
I know what you mean @knewspeak . I used to do all my own film and print processing in my Dad’s darkroom. I can still remember the smell!
I’m not even sure I know what type of music it is @reezygle 🤨. Thanks for listening.
And you call me unpredictable! I like the concept of nine different themes separated by a little breathing room. I would usually say ‘cool’ but I’m trying to bring back ‘groovy’, so… Groovy Man!
I did some black and white back when it was not only an art form, but a true craft. Nowadays kids just tweak it digitally in Photoshop. I loved going out with my camera looking for shots, then coming home and seeing what I got as it appeared in the tray. Sometimes it was crap, but every now and then I got something nice.
Well that was certainly different, @GeoTony ! Excellently executed as usual!
The tension and release in the punctuations of silence into it is great. I also love the way it evolves from weirdness to virtuosity and lyricism over the length of the piece. A unique thing! Sui generis, for sure.
