Memory Saving tips ?
Hi,
I've been using logic pro since it came out, on my Ipad 12.9 pro 3rd gen. I've been running into memory issues - looking at the specs, I've only got 4gb of RAM and on the entry point, compared to the new Ipad Pros with 16gb RAM
I've noticed it pushes me to freeze tracks, and I've tried to limit the number of different synths/auv3s I use in a track
Latest project I'm working on, is a big instrumental (ala Mike OIdfield), and memory is a concern.
Any other suggestions - apart from upgrade !!
Can you bounce a track into a WAV, so then remove the synth unit ? Would that help ?
any other options ?
Might have to split the track into multiple projects, and then just join together the exported wavs.

Freezing a track does what you want. It bounces to audio and doesn’t load the frozen AU. If you unfreeze it will reload the AU. While the track is frozen I don’t think it will use any more memory than if the track was a recorded audio track.
thanks for confirming. Will continue on that route.
