  • That’s pretty convincing for generator apps but your facility with GeoShred really adds that human element that most of us can’t quite replicate. That Bass Preset is a real gem… “Fluid” indeed.

You make that Flugelhorn play notes that a human might never reach with a mute in. It starts to sound like a soprano sax I think which is surprising and fitting.

I need to look into Chordjam to make one of these sparse piano parts… maybe driven by iBassist since it’s chord parts are somewhat predictable.

  • Good one, Tony. It brought me out of the woodwork. Love the bass sound from 2:00.
I wish the piano was more immediate, but the flugelhorn line and the bass make up for it.

  • Cool cats! 🐈‍⬛ 🐈 🐈‍⬛ 🐈 Like the image generated too. Nice!

  • Thanks @McD , I never thought of the impact the mute might have on the range. I set ChordJam to generate more or less random chord types for the piano but…
As @LinearLineman says I think it’s the least realistic playing. What I need is a real human player, steeped in jazz, lots of experience, well versed in creating music on an ipad… now where would I find such a person? 🤨
Cheers @Pxlhg . I struggled to get AI to produce anything sensible. It struggled with the concept of a quartet (bizarre when you think of what it can do) and even when it managed this there were extra limbs and heads. It couldn’t manage the four instruments I was trying for so finished up with the one on the track which is supposed to be in the style of Michelangelo.

  • That's lovely @GeoTony - great flugelhorn playing. Did you intentionally reference White Christmas near the end? (It's getting close to that time of year again.)

  • Ha ha, you spotted my ploy to see if people listen to the end @pbelgium 😊 It was indeed supposed to be White Christmas ❄️

  • I love the acoustic bass parts. The entire session reminded me of one particular night at The Jazz Showcase in Chicago. Eddie Gomez, Jack DeJohnette, John Abercrombie, and Lester Bowie. Great jam. Groovy man! May your days be merry and bright.

  • Flugel into Harmon mute is one of my top three favorite swam patches.

  • It's too soon! Wait for Halloween to pass first! 🤣 Kidding, this was an entire treat to listen to start to finish.

  • This is fantastic, @GeoTony, on many levels.

  • Man that was sweet. I totally was digging it. I love those kind of jams makes you feel inspired to go play, again just great man nicely done.
You definitely have geo skills with that app, I can’t use it all sounds like noise when I try

  • Thanks all… @Paulieworld , @Wrlds2ndBstGeoshredr , @jwmmakerofmusic , @Dav and @Jmd8928 🙏
Love John Abercrombie Paul. Have you heard Sargasso Sea with him and Ralph Towner? One of my favourites 😊
Just keep plugging away @Jmd8928 , you’ll get there !

  • Wow, that goes way back! My college roommate had that. Prior to meeting him, I was just into rock. I thought Jeff Beck was jazz. He got me into all types of new music. I remember him telling me about these "really far out dudes" named Fripp and Eno, and a guitar player named Steve Hillage who wrote a song about Salmon.

I just found it on the web and will listen tonight. I can't believe that was over 40 years ago. Thanks for jogging my memory!
