Will it have all seven veils?

    That would be something.

You spelled Salami wrong. Hopefully you haven't already submitted the app?

    That’s just baloney wim…

    Touché. 😎

  • I’m interested because it’s Bram, but …what is it? Didn’t find any information in the online

I was going to ask a similar question. All the parameters are blurred, but it looks like brams take on something like samplewhiz2, with MPE support and possibly a synth built in, just guessing though.

  • Here this photo should be a bit clearer.

  • Of course mate. :) And as far as Salome is concerned, doesn't matter what it does exactly. I'm still going to purchase it. 😂 Brambos is one developer I always instabiy from.

  • Guess the Hilda name convention wasn't a one off:
"Salome is a feminine name derived from the Hebrew word shalom, meaning "peace". A Russian icon of the two Marys and Salome at Jesus Christ's empty grave following the resurrection. Salome is a Christian saint."

I recently watched Blade Runner again, and the name of Salome struck me as a nice continuation of the Hilda naming theme indeed.

It's also conveniently derived from SAmple LOper with MpE ;)

If Bram Bos is attached it’s almost certainly an instabuy. Stoked for this one. Usually there’s always a unique twist with his apps so I’m curious what exactly it’s got going on.

    Only “almost certainly “?

I was trying to give myself wiggle room but you’re right. It’s always lol

I think we’re all in denial if we ever say we’re not going to buy Bram’s new app.

He could probably stick piano keys to a dog turd and we would all buy one.

You’re not wrong. Now that you mention it, Bram could definitely find a way to make even that sound cool

Nice! I’m stoked for this one. Fantastic film too, btw.

@brambos what's the interaction with the Roli Blocks in SALOME? For MPE support, as a example to control?

And about the Roli Blocks, nice hardware but the Roli Play app doesn't work anymore on IOS/iPadOS. Roli stated 'we don't have the resources to fix it'. I bought a lot of IAP's, all gone now. Talking about support......

Do you mean the Rolli NOISE app. About a year after that statement was made and I coincidentally gave it a review and said it was abandonware, they fixed it.

Yes, I did mean the Roli Noise app. And you know......I updated my iPad 12.9" M1 to iPadOS 17.1 yesterday evening and now it works! It didn't work on 17.0.3.

    Thanks for mentioning, aprreciate it!

I’m buying it for this naming reason alone

Kinda reminds me of Elsa. Will be interesting to see what unique features it has as I’m sure they will be there.

    For sure!

  • Side note… speaking of Blade Runner, it’s one of my favorite films of all time! I’d watched it so many times, so I never bothered with actually reading PKD’s ok it is based on “Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep”.

I finally did read it a couple months ago. It’s also great, but significantly different than the movie. A whole other vibe.

I loved Bade Runner 2049 too, but the first Blade Runner film is incomparable.

  • The original blade runner maybe one of the best films ever made
Read the book many moons ago, it was great like you say @skiphunt with a different vibe
I don’t even know why I love it so much
Bit like LTJ Bukem, my favourite of all time
Sorry for rambling, my thoughts just turned into text
    Feel free to ignore

  • I made a quick video explaining what Salome is, to make sure everyone has the right expectations :)

Salome started out as a project for myself: I needed a tool to quickly capture (or import) any audio and create seamless looping sounds out of it (without having to make an excursion to an audio editor).

Whilst designing, I emphasised rapid workflow (I'm a lazy musician) over deep features B)

Looks like my kind of sampler, ie understandable, straightforward and sounds great!

  • Oh cool 😎

Kinda like Mitosynth but AUv3 and some other deviations?

  • Like all of the @Brambos apps, the User Interface is so perfect for a touch device. I loved seeing three instances in AUM because I’m always pushing the iPad real estate to it’s limits and I get my best results when it’s a Brambos app I’m switching in and out to get something live that sounds like it took a week to compose.

  • Another Home Run from @brambos Can't wait for this one.

Yes, I hope it's clear that this is a super-streamlined but playful utility and not a deep sampling workstation replacement.

My friend Hainbach likened it to the Casio SK-1 when he saw it. But without the lo-fi, and optimized for touch :)

Not that I want to ask for things on an app that hasn't been released yet, but...any plans for Time Stretching on this lovely thing? Maybe some of that Gauss code could find its way in here somewhere.

I heard that you might know a guy :)

Or does the TUNE button do something we're not aware of ;)

As long it rolls around in that big brain of yours I'm good with that :) Because we all know what happens when a person can't stop thinking about something
