This is outstanding. You are channeling my old, inner hippie. In Chicago we had a guy named Ken Nordine. He had a weekly FM radio program called Word Jazz. It was far out. Check him out if you get a moment. You might like it.
Does Brother Thomas have any other spoken word Jazz in search of a soundtrack?
Big fan of Ken; honored to be mentioned in the same thread.
If you want some cosmic spoken word for your tracks, I've got a ton of it. I've been meaning to record and polish up some bits and put it on Freesounds. My problem is that I like to improvise and jam a lot more than I like to arrange and punch in and overdub and fine tune, and most of my stuff reflects that.
Here's the one I did with @LinearLineman. He played bass and piano; I played flute and vocal:
I have something that you might like. I will message you with details.
Love the mix and that guitar is killer.
This is so good. The sax parts remind me a bit of Audrey’s Dance from Twin Peaks. Excellent stuff 👏 gotta get some of those SWAM instruments eventually
That’s good, @Wrlds2ndBstGeoshredr. The horn goes Klezmer quite a bit. And I had forgotten about our collab. That was fine fluting you did.
@Paulieworld i learned about Ken Nordine in St. Augustine. A guy name of Bob Blaise played him late on Sunday nights. I'm sure you’re a fan of Jean Shepherd, too.
This is brilliant! Love that bass and the whole vibe is so Cosmic! Well played on the Sax too!
Mysterious and haunting. Well done!
Crossed lots of continents with this one. Great atmosphere and lovely playing 🙏
Far out, man, I dig it!
