A few drone samples in Koala (you’ve been warned…)

Lately I’ve been trying to stick to the most minimal of methods. This is a few somewhat carefully chosen drone samples. Otherwise, it’s the reverb and compressor in Koala and some basic visuals from VS.

As always, I’ll be interested in hearing your feedback.

  • I liked that
I am sitting back right now on the beach ( sadly with the family) and really enjoyed that, could be the start to my next drum and bass track
    Great job

  • Thanks @Gdub !

If you want to dnb it up, it’s fine with me!

  • This is just what I need, thank you!

  • Fantastic stuff a as always 👏. I’ve been using koala standalone a lot lately as well. Such an amazing app.

Btw do you edit your videos in iMovie or something else?

  • @sevenape I knew it was what you wanted. 🙂 Many thanks!

@HotStrange I’ve sorta been rediscovering Koala lately. I’m especially having a lot of fun with the Split Stems feature.

I occasionally do some editing in Luma but it’s about 95% iMovie for me.

A Koala question: I can’t seem to get the Stem Splitter to work when I try to use it in AUM. Do you have any experience with that?

Cool :) I’m wanting to start uploading some videos to YouTube just for fun. Might get Luma eventually but iMovie will suffice for now I think.

Regarding the stems, I don’t believe I’ve tried it in AUM. I’m at work now but I can give it a shot when I get off and see what happens then report back.

  • Lovely drone work, very relaxing 👌

Oh yeah… those are great sounds! I’d love to import them in Audiolayer or Salome and make them playable instruments too.

The shortest path is to screen record your track and import the video (audio) into Koala and chop it into sections that highlight one of more specific textures. Tuning the audio to a specific root is a wise step to make playable instruments.

I tried but I need a more pure instance to come close to what you’ve created.
